Painters and Wood Floor Refinishing
Of course in a perfect world we would have the new place painted and floors refinished when we move in.
In reality I have a question - is there a major cost difference to having either painters or wood floors done in part of the house and then having them come back for another section?
If I want to replace the doors to bedrooms and closets, do I have to hire someone else to do that?

Painters and Wood Floor Refinishing
We did exactly those two things 2 weeks before we moved in. Painted almost every square inch if the house and refinished wood floors. If you can definitely do it before moving in! The floors tAke a few days to dry and with furniture/not walking on them that'll be really hard. Plus it's dusty and smelly! I think they would charge more to come twice

I agree with the PP - I would do it all in one fell swoop. The painting and floors. I think we had our wood floors done first, then the painting done.
I think it will be more of a pain and more costly to break it up. And it's much easier to do both before you move in.
As far as replacing the doors, they are pretty easy to hang yourself, but you can just call a handyman type person to do it if you can't or don't want to (or I'll offer up my DH as a closing gift! ).

this is exactly what we're doing.. floors first (refinishing) and then painting the whole house. We thought about only doing part of it. but I just want it all done before we move in.
