Bday party on 7/6

Would you attend a birthday party on the Sunday of 4th of July weekend? My daughter's bday is that day but I worry about people not coming. I can't do the weekend before because of another commitment and the next weekend is the christening for my twins. Because things are so crazy with two newborns I am mot doing as huge party for her and my son (his bday is the week before). It will just be immediate family and the friends from school, so I would feel bad if no kids came, but it's a good weekend for us. Thoughts?

Okay... you are all making me re-think having the party on 7/6. i am torn because i really don't know when else to have it, but i would be so sad for DD and DS if no kids came. other than that, we are looking at the end of july in terms of other weekends that work and that seems so far away from their birthdays.

I would go. I have a friend whose DD was born July 3rd so they do a party for her bday and mix in a july 4th party at the same time...

I would go.

I wouldn't view it any different than other Sundays and people have birthday parties on Sundays all the time

As long as we didn't have a prior commitment, we would go.

I generally don't plan parties on holiday weekends. People usually have too many prior commitments and because it's a holiday weekend, many people go away as well. I would be worried not many people could make it, especially the friends.

ETA - I would go if I was free, I just think planning anything on a long holiday weekend is risky.

I am struggling with the same thing - my son's birthday is 7/8. We would love to do a party the weekend of the 4th, but I'm struggling because I think a lot of people go away for the 4th, especially when it falls on a three day weekend.

That said, if I was invited to party on a holiday weekend and didn't have prior commitments, I would go.

As long as we weren't going to be out of town for the weekend, which we often are for the 4th, I would definitely go.

It depends on how close i am to the celebrant. but Ill be honest...parties on holiday weekends annoy me and Sunday parties annoy me even more.

Probably not. Well...I guess it depends on who it is. If it was someone close, we would go but we wouldn't be happy about it.

I tend to stay close to home on Sundays of holiday weekends (and most summer Sundays) because of traffic so unless people are going away for an extended weekend (on top of the holiday) I think you will be fine!
