Iron Supplements and Colace
I passed my 1 hour GD test but through this blood work, the Dr. found that I have low iron. I am now taking the iron supplements and was just wondering if you girls took Colace automatically with every dose of iron and how many times a day. I haven't pooped in 3 days (sorry TMI!) and I'm nervous about being constipated when I do finally go but I don't want to overdo the softener!

Iron Supplements and Colace
I was in the same boat. I tool a stool softener with every dose but ended up being so constipated I had to take a glycerine enema. I stopped taking the iron after that. Be careful.

I take milk of magnesia 1-2 times a week and I recently started colace but don't take it as regularly as I probably should.

I have to take the iron supps with a stool softener. I plan to take the colace once every other day and see how I feel. If I need to take it everyday I will.
Edited to also say, I'm not having the same issue as you. If I was I would probably take it everyday.

I really think I am in a similar boat bc the prenatals that I am currently taking are so high in iron and I haven't gone in 4 days. I am trying prune juice and miralax tonight. Colace never worked for me with my DS unfortunately :(

I ate prunes every day with my iron supplement. I never had to take Colace.

I take Floradix which doesn't seem to be as bad - but I've also adde dhigh fiber cereal in morning and benefiber too. I still don't go as often as I'd like but its not every other day instead of 2-3 days.
