we just closed on a house- going to be repainting kitchen cabinets. I'm going to try to post some pictures, but here goes

layout roughly is- central island srounded by cabinets. roughly a square shaped area- island with cabinets on 3 sides. o nthe fourth side- you go into dinette area/kitchen table and chairs. on the other side of the table, another wall unit of cabinets.
so heres the question- painting all the cabinets white, staining the island a dark walnut/espresso. I am debating whether to paint the wall off cabinets - on other side of table - white, or stain it the dark color to match the island
I actually want to do dark there, DH thinks it will look odd and wants to do white.
any recs? gonna try to put up pictures soon
