Dog obedience advice
We adopted our dog (a bichon) back in April. He's a sweetheart, but he is very high energy (around a year old now) and, while that is totally fine, the one thing I can't tolerate is his constant stealing of and eating the kid's toys. We try to keep the toys neat, but with a 3 and 6 yr old, they love to dump toys everywhere. He also is getting quite aggressive about wanting our food when we are sitting at the table.
He also will steal any paper product you have if you aren't paying attention.
I feel terrible because we are always telling the kids to put the toys away so the dog doesn't eat them. I don't want them to be restricted with their toys because we decided to get a dog. Doesn't seem fair to them.
Any advice? Tips? He's honestly great otherwise, but I'm sick of chasing him around the house 20 times a day for things.

Dog obedience advice
Sounds like he might just need some more exercise. Does he get walked a few times a day? That makes a huge difference in my dog!

Re: Dog obedience advice
To the dog being chased is a reward! They love it, they think its a game.
I would make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise and I would get something like a kong wobbler or busy buddy toy to feed him his kibble- these make it fun and engaging and time consuming to eat - it is mentally stimulating and will tire him.
