Hard wired smoke detectors?
Looking into getting hard wired smoke detectors installed throughout the house -- Home Depot sells a 4 pack for just $56. Is this something an electrician would install?

Hard wired smoke detectors?
yes, generally electricians install the smoke detectors as it really is running a power wire thoughout the house.
you probably also want a C02 detector as well

Thanks! Yes, we were going to do one smoke/CO2 detector combo and then the rest just smoke detectors! Trying to figure out how many we need -- we have a split that has 4 levels (basement, den, main floor, bedroom level). I know its usually one per floor, but our den and bedroom levels are only 5 steps up/down from our main floor, so we might be able to decrease the total number needed!

Hard wired smoke detectors?
I don't remember the actual code. we did 1 in each bedroom, 1 in the hallway, 2 (C02 and regular) in the downstairs, 1 (duel unit) basement and 1 (duel unit) garage. We went a little crazy. We did it ourselves when the walls were open.
