How long was your recovery? Were you out for work for a long time?

Re: Lap Question

I had lap surgery for endo last Summer and was only out of work for 2 days total, but rested the weekend (I think mine was on a Thursday). It was not a long recovery for me at all! Good luck Chat Icon

Re: Lap Question

My first lap they said 4 days off, I think I ended up taking an extra day and wish I had even more. It was more painful than I thought! I had a Fallopian tube unblocked and a uterine septum removed.

My second lap was excruciating - to remove a Fallopian tube on left side (this side hurt so bad) and also remove an ectopic pregnant from the right side. It took two weeks to feel better, closer to 3 actually.

I am a big baby though. I didn't need pain meds after 4 days but I was still so sore and bruised up and complained constantly.

Re: Lap Question

I was fine after mine. I rested for 2 days. by the next day I had remind myself to take it easy. I felt fine. Some cramping and pressure from the air they pump into you. I took gas x, used heating pad and regular Tylenol. No need for big time pain meds.

Everyone is different. Good luck!

Just think about the fact that it will hopefully help you in the long run. If you do have any pain, TAKE THE MEDS they give you! Too many people suffer through pain because they are like, no I'm ok. I can deal. Don't deal - just take them. That's what they are there for. I have had other surgeries done for other reasons and have had a lot of pain. Those pain pills are my best friend during recovery.

Try not to worry, I know easier said than done Chat Icon I only had slight endo in my right ovary so nothing major, and yes it did help my periods a lot! Chat Icon

Hey! So sorry if I scared you - it's really not that bad. 2 days to feel somewhat better but they tell you to take it easy and no heavy lifting for awhile. I think my 2nd surgery was more painful bc he did a lot in there and removed a tube. Coming out of anesthesia is always a B for me but I know to just lay there in recovery for as long as I need to! Also yes pain meds are your friend! I alternated hydrocodone and 800mg ibprofen. First time around I may have just had the ibprofen I can't remember now! The good news is you forget it all very fast and it's just something you have to do to get to the next step like the PP said! Best of luck and message me if you have any questions!!!
