Traveling with infant on lap quick question
Some websites don't list infant on lap as an option (or if they do I can't find it). Is that something I need to check off when I buy my tickets or can I just buy 2 adult tickets. I am thinking my son will at least need some sort of ticket even if he wont be in a seat.

He needs a ticket with his name on it. You have to find a site that will give you an option to " buy" one for him.

Thanks. That what I was thinking. And then when we fly I need to bring his Birth Certificate right? or just a copy?

hmmm...I don't see the option anywhere on Delta's website although it does say that infants under 2 can travel on your lap.

Re: Traveling with infant on lap quick question
Id just call about purchasing a ticket. Ive done it numerous times, but I dont remember having an extra ticket, but it could be that I really dont remember LOL. I have brought the birth certificate every single time and they have never asked for it.

Re: Traveling with infant on lap quick question
I traveled with a lap infant a few months ago. I just bought my ticket online. Then I called the airline to tell them and they made a note in the system, no separate ticket.

Re: Traveling with infant on lap quick question
I have booked my ds as a lap child multiple times. If the airline did not have an option to add child as lap, I phoned the airline and they added the child to my already purchased seat. I never had a problem.

Re: Traveling with infant on lap quick question
Any time I've traveled with DC on my lap, I never notified the airline prior. I just bought my ticket and showed up with them. Never had any problems.

I've never had an actual ticket with just my DS name. It's always on my ticket as "lap child". I've never been asked for identification either.

I've flown with dd a bunch of times. Just call the airline and add him. Then you have to go to an actual person instead of just printing out your ticket. They'll give you a ticket for the baby.

This is what I do. Continenal was the only airline that let me add a lap child online.

Thanks! We ended up calling they said we could book online and then call back to add him.
