Stomach virus 2cnd week of preschool
Am I doomed for lots of sick days?
My kids go to school 2 days a week it's their first time in school/daycare .
This weekend all 3 had a stomach bug while we were on vacation in montauk!!!
I expected them to get sick but not this quick!!! How bad is this gonna be?!?

Both my boys started with bad colds after only 2 days of school. I said the same thing. This will be a LONG winter

I am freaking out.
DS has not gotten sick - YET, but every other post on my FB feed is about kids who go to his school that got sick within the first 2 weeks!!!
I can deal with colds but PLEASE, PLEASE don't let him come home with the stomach bug! That is one of my biggest worries.
Hope your kids feel better and that it was a fast one.

Stomach virus 2cnd week of preschool
DS had a REALLY bad year where he was sick like every three weeks between the ages of 1 and 2 with everything from colds to croup to the stomach virus to Roseola (he goes to daycare two days a week). Last year was a bit better. What I started doing was keeping antibacterial gel in the car and putting it on his hands as soon as he gets in the car. Then as soon as we get home I wash his hands for 20 seconds with soap and water.
I hope they feel better!

I do agree with this. I wipe both my kids down with antibacterial wipes upon pick up at school, then we come home immediately & wash hands & change clothes

Dd has been in daycare since an infant and yes she got sick more often then, but now I have to say, she is never sick. Knock wood. I think thet really do build a stronger immunity from it.

Same with my DS, he was always sick when he was in daycare the first two years then around 4.5 he rarely got sick. He always had a cough it seemed like every other week.
In kindergarten last year he only missed two days for vomiting and I think it's was from DH and I getting the flu. He never for got a fever or sick, I was so surprised.

Same with my DS. He was sick monthly in the beginning and now never.
But if it's just a cold send them in to school. Only stay home for fever and stomach things.

Stomach virus 2cnd week of preschool
DS started daycare at 11 weeks and came home with a horrible stomach bug after his first day. When he returned (after being sick for about a week), he got a horrible cold. We were discussing ways for me to stay at home at that point.
The beginning was the toughest - hang in there!

My DS missed 2 days the 2nd week of school too. Sadly now the entire house has the cold. He went to school today, and there was a decent amount of kids that had coughs or runny noses today.
I noticed the same thing happened last year, but thankfully got better after the first month.

I worked at a daycare and the first month I got sick every week.
AFter that I didn't get sick for over a year.
So I agree with you!

Same here. I have such an irrational fear of the stomach bug it's ridiculous. DD has a cold after her first week of pre school. She has no fever but is coughing and has a runny nose. Should I still send her in tomorrow?

I would unless the cough is really bad or if she develops a fever.

My boys went to school today despite their colds. I only hold them if their noses are running like crazy, fever or didn't sleep much the night prior.

My thing is I cannot handle vomit - it is the ONE Mommy duty I just did not master.
I'm pretty sure its all in my head but as soon as someone mentions vomiting, I get that awful bile taste in my mouth and I start to get quesey. No joke this thread makes my stomach loopy...lol
DS has only had one stomach bug so far (he was 18 months and is now 4) the second he threw up, my stomach grew weak, and I was getting sick.
Should DS get it now I PRAY that he can let us know before he hurls so that I have time to move him into the bathroom or grab a bucket, but I have a feeling that is not how its going to go

Re: Stomach virus 2cnd week of preschool
Dd2 started in July and was fine but 12 days into the new school year with the other older kids returning she's got the stomach virus with vomit and poo. @6months old Poor kid was scared to death the first episode. I think dh was just as scared. Yesterday was the worst. Little thing couldn't hold anything down.
