FLU SHOT! ?
I haven't decided.
I never get it (flu shot or flu). But, I also work from home 80% of the week and am not around many school aged kids, and my husband gets it every year.
I think it is perfectly safe to get and very few people actaully get the flu from the flu shot though.

FLU SHOT! ?
Definitely getting it. I got it for the first time when pregnant with DD and I felt cruddy for a day but then was fine. I like that you pass along protection to the baby for their first few months. I got it the following year when she was a baby. Her ped actually gave it to me bc she was too little to get it yet. Being due in december this time, I definitely want both myself and the baby to have that protection. Reading posts on here from all the people who've had the flu has made me more confident about getting it.

Re: FLU SHOT! ?
I'm asking the Dr about this Monday. I'm opting for the preservative free one if I do get it.

Definitely getting it, I usually get it anyway because I work in healthcare. I also want to get the whooping cough vaccine as I understand the theory is when you get it in your 3rd trimester the vaccine transfers to the baby as well.

FLU SHOT! ?
I'll be getting the flu shot. As PP said, some of it will be passed on to DS so he'll be a little more protected once he's born.

FLU SHOT! ?
I did not and am so glad I didn't. I was in the hospital for 5 days between my induction and delivery. DH, who did get the flu shot, was with me the entire time. He caught the flu (diagnosed as such). DD and I were 100% healthy.

I got mine this week-the preservative free one. Baby is due in December; so my doctor definitely recommended getting it.

Re: FLU SHOT! ?
Not getting it. Never have gotten it, so I don't feel comfortable getting it now. My dh used to get it every year, and every year he would get the flu at some point.

Re: FLU SHOT! ?
I will be getting it. I want the baby to have some immunity, esp since she'll be born in flu season. My OB's office was out of it yesterday. Interestingly enough, my OB does not carry the preservative free shot, bc the CDC says the regular shot is supposedly "safe". Where are you ladies finding the preservative free shot?
I got the whooping cough vaccine yesterday- I'm 30 weeks.

No I didn't have it when I was pregnant (nor do I get it non-pregnant). Just personal preference.

FLU SHOT! ?
I haven't gotten the shot in over 10 years but I will be getting it in the next few weeks. I work in a school, so I really should get it, but I never get sick. My best friend is a nurse (who has 4 children under 10) and she was adamant that I get it lol.

I don't plan on getting it. I never got it prior and don't feel completely comfortable getting in while pregnant. My dr has not mentioned anything to me about getting one.

I'm not sure what to do either. I never got the shot so I'm scared to test it out during pregnancy. My preg friend got it last week and was sick the next day so I'm scared. I researched online and there are mixed reviews about getting it.

FLU SHOT! ?
The one year I didn't get the flu shot I got labrythitis, which they think, from the number of cases that year was a part of that years strain, it's a common side effect of the flu. I permanently lost more then 50% of my hearing in my right ear. Others I know who got it lost 100%. I'm lucky because we treated it immediately.
I will never skip the flu shot again.

Same! I didn't get it with my first, so I really don't want to get it this time, but I'm also scared to get the flu! Ughhh

Re: FLU SHOT! ?
I never had the flu shot before in my life. However, back in jan I got the flu and it was the WORST time of my life (and I've had pretty bad illnesses before) I honestly thought I was dying. So when I went for my first OB appt they offered it to me and I jumped all over it. I had zero reaction, just a slightly sore arm.

Re: FLU SHOT! ?
I have never gotten the flu shot, even when I was pregnant with DS ( and i was teachi g preschoolers at that time). I am now a stay at home mom, but am consideri g getting it for my current pregnancy. DS is in preschool and brings home all kinds of germs , so this is why i'm considering it this year.

Re: FLU SHOT! ?
I didn't get it either time I was pregnant and my DD was born in Sept., DS in March.
I haven't had the flu since I was probably around 6 yrs old so I figured I'd be ok. I generally don't get more than a cold in the winter.

Nope I will never get it. Don't trust it and especially during pregnancy. Plus it's not always effective anyway.
