fresh mozzarella
What's the consensus on fresh mozzarella. Uncle Guiseppes fresh mozzarella has the ingredients listed and it says pasteurized milk.
So it's fine right?

EAT IT! My OB basically told me that if its being sold in a grocery store chain or being served at a public restaurant, its pasteurized and safe to eat. Enjoy!

I asked my fertility doctor and he said it was fine. Then my friend told me it wasn't so I asked my OB and she said it was fine too. I tend to avoid it in really high end restaurants where I fear they may make their own though.
But its not a soft cheese, its a semi-soft cheese and usually pasteurized, even in restaurants. (DH's cousin sells cheese for a major cheese company that sells to high end restaurants and confirmed this for me). In the US almost all cheese is pasteurized, especially in grocery stores, but even in most restaurants, unless they make it fresh in the restaurant which is VERY unusual.

I eat it from Ivarronne pretty much weekly and haven't had a problem. i have found very few cheese even in better restaurants are made with unpasteurized milk. I am a cheese lover!

I can't stop eating it, either. OB said if it's made with Pasteurized milk, yes. BTW, Uncle Giuseppe's makes it so good......
