Can I eat Fresh Mozzarella

I had a hot sandwich for lunch and didn't realize till halfway thru it was made with fresh Mozerella. The sandwhich was heated and the cheese was melted, but I heated more in the microwave. Do you think it is ok?

Almost all fresh cheese that is commercially produced (i.e., sold in supermarkets, bought by restaurants, etc.) is pasturized, so it should be fine.

Just be careful at natural or health food stores (and some Italian delis that make their own cheese) -- cheeses sold at these places are sometimes not pasturized. Check the label or ask.

I'm sure it was fine. Sometimes Italian delis make their own -- but even that could be pasturized.

Don't stress it -- just think, there are pregnant women in Italy and Greece eating unpastrurized mozzeralla and feta and they are fine Chat Icon

Re: Can I eat Fresh Mozzarella

Thanks Ladies I really appreciate it... You all made me feel better... Trust me I heated for another 2 minutes (it was a hot sandwhich) and I burned my tongue... But afterwards I was upset.. Thanks again for all the input
