Talk to me about your counter depth fridge

Are you happy with the room you have?

I was told by my contractor that they are pretty small. I guess I have to go and check one out myself but what do you think?

If you have the room to buy a wider frig then you will be fine but we were very limited on space so for us to have a decent size frig we could not get the counter depth.

We have the 72" countertop depth jennair fridge (pro style handles) and really like it so far. We previously had a standard depth 20yo GE side-by-side fridge. The 72" style has slightly more interior space than a typical countertop depth fridge and we also have the kind without the ice maker in the door -- primarily because I hate the look but also because we would rather give up space in the freezer than the fridge. We have had plenty of room for all of our stuff and I think the french door style is a lot more user friendly for us. We always "lost" things in the back of our old fridge and would end up throwing things out. I find that we can see everything in this fridge and its great. I find the freezer a little more of a PITA -- again that is more of a french door fridge with bottom freezer issue than a countertop depth issue -- but we also have a garage freezer so its not a big deal. My DH likes our new freezer better though so its more personal preference. I will say the samsung standard depth fridge was awesome, the third drawer was pretty nice. But, with our kitchen layout we really wanted countertop depth. So far so good

For a standard width counter depth fridge there isn't a lot of room, especially if you have a large family. If you have a second fridge in the basement or garage, its fine.
