Nanny incident at Hecksher today
I witnessed a nanny altercation today at hecksher park in Huntington around 330/4pm today. It really upset me and if I were that little girls mother I would want to know how my nanny could easily snap like that.
So long shot but does anybody have a daughter names Isabella who has a nanny that would have taken her to that park today? She is about 2 years old. Give or take.

I believe there is a website where you can report what you saw and parents or people who know the parents may see it. I think the website may be called I saw your nanny...

Oh so sad...I would want to know so bad. They are so helpless at such a young age.

Yes please post! Any mom would want to know. It shouldn't be hard to find her as I am sure it's a local mom.

Nanny incident at Hecksher today
I woke up still really bothered by what happened. Wanted to fill you in. It wasn't between the nanny and her child, but it was still scary and upsetting to watch nonetheless. The little girl was referred to as Bella Hoping the gets to the mom bc I would never want my daughter taken care of by someone who could snap so easily.
This is what happened. Bella was playing on a part of the playground and then got out and walked away. The mom went in with her 1 year old baby. There was plenty of room for everyone and it's a public playground. Nanny: I can't believe you would do that. Screaming at the mom. How could you do that. Mom: looked confused as who she was even talking to Nanny: she was playing in there and you just started using it Mom: it was empty Nanny: she had just walked away from it Then the nanny was staring her down and saying stuff I couldn't hear
Mom and her friends try to leave and put their kids in the strollers when then mom referred to the nanny as a psycho talking to her friend
Nanny: who you f'ing calling a psycho as she abandons the little girl climbing on the jungle gym and goes after the mom and her baby as she is trying to walk away. Nanny continues to follow the mom out or the playground, leaving the 2 year old there climbing on something and could have easily fallen. Nanny is screaming at the mom, you're a psycho. You're baby is a psycho. The mom was just trying to walk away and said you're screaming at me in front of that little girl, what kind of example are you setting? I want to find out who this little girls mom is.
Nanny: go right ahead
The mom was trying to get away from the nanny following her and screaming at her in her face how she is the psycho and her baby is too.
So that bothered me for a number of reasons. The mom shouldn't have referred to the nanny as a pyscho obviously talking to her friend but the nanny overheard. But the nanny walked away from the girl she was watching who was climbing up something. She was screaming and cursing at a total stranger in front of this little girl who was looking on and looked visible upset. The nanny calling a baby psycho is crazy to me. How can anyone call a little baby a psycho? The nanny left the girl she was paid to take care or to follow this woman and her baby around the park screaming at them.
It just scared me to watch bc if she could snap so easily and become enraged like that what could set her off at home with that little girl.

Also the nanny was middle aged (older), African American (with an accent from the islands), heavy set and had a crew cut.

Re: Nanny incident at Hecksher today
The thing that bothers me most is that this nanny was clearly looking for a fight. And as well as the child could have fallen or walked away, the WORST part is that Hecksher park has a HUGE POND. That a child DROWNED in about 2 years ago when the parent was distracted and not carefully paying attention.
To me, that's the most concerning part here. The child, unattended, could have gotten away and drowned.

You know what I think is even worse? The nanny, not only cursed and ranted in front of the child in her care, but the other kids with their moms! I'd lose my mind.... The poor moms and their kids must have been so scared. I don't understand why she picked a fight with the lady in the first place. Did she think that she owned that section of playground? There's definitely something wrong with her to pick a fight like this.

I am so upset for that little girl. I am not from the area, please tell us if they find the family. Maybe someone else that goes to this park will see her and identify her.

This is horrible! I hope you find the mother. If the nanny snapped that easily at a mother and her child she can snap so easily at any time!

Look at nanny sightings.com
there was an incident about 3 months ago at Hecksher.
That's scary reading that site. Poor kids, I hope parents are diligent about looking after the people they hire to care for them.

Re: Nanny incident at Hecksher today
I feel so awful for that little girl! I imagine she must have been pretty frightened to see her caregiver going crazy like that. I can only imagine a person like this wouldn't have much patience for a small child acting out. I hope this gets back to her mom.
Stories like this are why I chose day care (in a facility, not a home) over a nanny. People can come across so sweet and caring to your face then do a total 180 once you're out the door. Even if they have a nanny cam at home that wouldn't show incidents like this one. I don't trust anyone and want as many eyes around as possible when I'm not there.

DITTO With all the stuff you hear about nannies and after that one in NYC killed those kids- I just don't trust ANYONE in my home. I don't care how good their references, background check, etc are.

Daycare or nannies can both have flaws and there have been series incidents with both. But for me that is also why I choose daycare. I feel more comfortable knowing there are many sets of eyes on her.
I live in the area and I hate heckshire park. There are two playgrounds. One is clearly labeled 2-5 years old. I have seen children that I swear must be 12-14 acting like wild beasts when babies are toddling along side them. There are always 1-3 children on top of that train house and when my dd is in the train sand and dirt is dropping down onto her from the kids who are very much older 5. They also jump down from the train and I've seen them hit into other children. I feel parents are never watching their kids, socializing or on cell phones. And I've had to tell children before things like "you may not put your hands on my daughter" or "it's your turn to go down the slide there are other children waiting" when numerous times they're blocking the slide. I have also had negative experiences at some of the indoor play places in huntington.
I much prefer northport. The parents there are more involved in what their child is doing.

Well that's the thing. I've seen this nanny before and she was happy and singing to the little girl, saying hi to everyone. This time was very diff and that's what bothered me most. She had just gotten to the playground and was only there about 2 minutes before starting with this mom. She showed up looking miserable, not engaging with the little girl and apparently looking for a fight. She was very aggressive.
That's what's scares me. You think you know how your nanny is but you never know how and when they can snap and over nothing. Just like that nanny on the uws that killed those two angels.
All I know is if I knew that my nanny could snap like that and even call a baby a psycho there is no way in hell I would want them around my child.

.
Exactly. Many sets of eyes and CAMERAS documenting everything. And the state coming in and out all the time for inspections, checking procedures are followed etc I feel safer that way. But I trust nobody.
