Anyone signed up for North Shore Manhasset?
My best friend gave birth there and we're 99.9% sure we'll use it since we live really close to Manhasset. Any thoughts/comments about that hospital? I'm too early to go tour it just yet.

I hear it's wonderful. Can't speak from personal experience yet. I just went where my doctor went. My only requirement was that I have a single room.

I'll have DD there. My sister had my nephew there. I was really happy with them and my nephew had to go to the NICU for 2 days cause he had breathing problems. the rooms are beautiful! they're all private rooms!

It was amazing. I went in 3 weeks before I delivered in pre-term labor. Every day, the care was outstanding by the whole staff, from nurses, preemie specialists, pernatologists, everyone. The rooms were private, pretty big, and the place was silent. The bathrooms were so nice, too! They always told you what to expect before they did it, and every time they had an update, they came in and gave it to you. The menu was nice too and the food was pretty good. After I gave birth, the care was still amazing. The nicu was so welcoming and they let you stay if you needed to, even though my girls were only in there 24hrs. You have the option of rooming in, which I know is not for everyone. I chose to have DD's room in because the room was huge. The nurses were always there to show you or help you along if you needed it, and the supplies were plentiful. The lactation consultants aren't pushy either, and they let me do my thing. The pediatrician came in a couple of times to monitor them, and the nurses ran all of the tests in front of you, like the hearing test and car-seat test. It was during hurricane sandy, and they couldn't be better or more accommodating. I have no complaints at all. It was so cute, they let DH and I order dinner together off the menu so we could have a cute dinner together. We just laid in bed and talked about this... You can't ask for a better place to have a baby,

I will deliver at Southside, but I had my myomectomy at the Katz Women's Center on the maternity ward. Its really nice. The room was so nice. Single room with a table and big comfy chair and a very nice bathroom. The nurses were good, except with taking blood, but I think that was me. My only good blood spot was being used by the IV. I liked it so much I had planned to go up there, even though its about 45 minutes away, for delivery. But now that I am due in April and having my c-section in March, I decided in case their is a harsh winter I am staying down here on the South Shore and found an OB down here.

Amazing from beginning to end! The rooms are huge and spotless. The nurses were great. I felt like I was at a hotel.
