LIJ Katz girls...
When you arrived at the hospital, did they put you in a triage room with other ladies to labor or did you get a private room? I know recovery is private room but curious where they put you for the terrible part. lol

LIJ Katz girls...
I'd think at all hospitals the triage rooms are private. I can't imagine laboring in a room with other women/husbands there.

With DS, I was at the old LIJ and I labored until 10cm in a triage with 5 other women! It was a nightmare. Hoping things changed a bit since then lol

That's not true. When I had DS, I gave birth at NYU. I was having a c-section but was in active labor (DS was breech and I went into labor before my scheduled c). I think there were maybe 5 beds in the triage room. But there were curtains all around and my parents were able to come in, along with DH.
That being said, I think everyone (there were 2 other women) were in very early labor, so I'm sure they got moved to private rooms before they got farther along.
Not sure how LIJ works, though. Will be delivering there in a few months!

Private during labor, after delivery prior to my room being ready it was shared by 3 other women...there were partitions up. Took a couple hours for a room to be ready but the post partum room is also private. Both rooms (labor and delivery and post partum) were amazing though! The bed in the labor and delivery room was awesome. In the beginning it was best for me to be in a seated position and the bed moves in all different directions which was soooooo comfortable.

I was at North Shore, but triage has multiple beds. I was in triage with DD2 for hours until I was screaming to get me an epi, and then was told they had no labor rooms available. I didn't get moved to a private room until I was about 7 cm and got the epi at 8 cm.

LIJ Katz girls...
I delivered there less then 2 years ago in the new Katz center. When getting checked out - private; labor - private; recovery if C-section - cubicle w/ walls and curtains; post partum room - private.

LIJ Katz girls...
I delivered there in July. I was about 5 cm when I was admitted. Triage was private, was sent to L&D soon after (private). DD was born 2 hours later. Waited in L&D room for 3 - 4 hrs till the recovery room was ready. (all private)

I went to triage and was the only one in there then they moved me to a regular labor and delivery room.

No, that's not true. See my above post. All hospitals are different.

I was brought straight into a l&d private room, even when they moved me when they gave me the 1 day break from the induction I was in a private room.
