Car Seat expiration confusion!
I had the graco 3 in 1 high back booster on my registry back in 2010 (I didn't realize at the time that there was even such a thing as an expiration on them) and now that my daughter is ready to use it, I am getting conflicting info. On if I should use it or not.
I did just go to Baby's R Us to purchase the other one for my second car and they lady said that only the infant carriers expire. Is this true?
Also, if the box is unopened, should they allow an exchange for a current one?
TIA

I figured as much. I looked at her confused and didn't want to argue until I have all of my facts. I will be going back once I do.

Re: Car Seat expiration confusion!
I'm not sure what the expiration is for those particular seats but most seats nowadays are either 5 or 7 years. It would tell you on the seat itself and in the manual. You can probably find the manual online. Just be aware that if you bought it in 2010, the expiration period could have been different back then than it is now for newer seats (this happened with my peg perego infant seat) and if you pull up the manual online, it would be the current one, not the one from 2010.

There should be a sticker on the outside of the box if it's a Graco that says the manufactured on date. Can you locate it?
Here is some more info: http://blog.gracobaby.com/2010/02/11/car-seats-have-expiration-dates-too/
I believe it's usually a six year expiration so you might be able to get a year's use out of it, depending on the date it was manufactured.

i would try to exchange it not sure if you will be able too. I would try buy buy baby say you don't have the receipt the will give you store credit minus 20%off but if you have 20% off coupon it shouldn't make a difference
