Blankie or Lovey Question...

Both Dd's were really young. Under a year. I love it and hate it lol. It's really cute but then like now dd2 is 22 months and super attached we have to find it everywhere to bring everywhere. Dd1 is 4 and is better about it

Re: Blankie or Lovey Question...

DS1 - never. He's 5 now and has some stuffed animals in his bed, gave them names and even some have birthdays (or an excuse for mommy to make a cake day). No real attachment to any particular. When we go away I let him pick one to come with us.

DS2 - at around 20 months he had this blue bear that happened to be a GC holder. He carries it around with him all the time and probably tortures him. Calls him "baby." Named it himself. He is also a thumb sucker where DS1 never was. I think thumb suckers tend to have a lovey more. Anyway, DS2 is 3 now and still brings Baby everywhere. I wash him at least once a week depending on how dirty he gets. He has rules he can't have him while eating and only in preschool in the mornings then he stays in his backpack. LOL

I would say he got really attached around 1. he is super attached now, we had multiple monkey blanket lovies and now only 1 of them will do!
We never let him take it out of the house (unless we are going overnight). Monkey stays in the crib for naps and bed and he only comes out to snuggle the hour before bed or if he snuggles in our bed in the morning! We are too scared of losing him LOL

Re: Blankie or Lovey Question...

Honesty, not until like 18 months or so.
And totally by accident.
One day we were taking my car in for an inspection and I needed a ride back so DH took her in his truck and followed me to the dealership.
It was FREEZING out that day, so I grabbed a blanket I had gotten as a baby gift and never used. It was the closest thing I could find. I covered her in the car seat with it.

From that day on, she became super attached to it.
So random.
Even now, at 4 years old, she won't sleep without it, she wants to bring it places when we go out, she carries it everywhere. I can barely wrestle it away from her to wash it when it gets super nasty.
She talks to it like it's a person too:
Blankie is so cute. Oh my blankie, he is so funny.

Blankie or Lovey Question...

Dd slept with a little elmo starting around 16 months. Before that I would leave a few things in her crib but she never touched them. Closer to 2 she ditched him for a stuffed dog and 9 months later she's never slept without that dog. She grabed him one day as we were walking out the door for a road trip. Of all the time I spent coming up with entertainment for her in the car she played with that dog for hours and nothing else. They've been best friends ever since.

Towelie

Um I'd say about 9 or 10m old. She started holding it while she slept and rubbing her palm over the terry cloth side. She liked how it felt. Then the smooth side.

Been towelie ever since! she's now 6!

Blankie or Lovey Question...

My daughter was around 7 or 8 months I think. She has a bear, and she loves this bear more than anything. He's a lifer. It's really cute the way she is with him.

Re: Blankie or Lovey Question...

They had a few they each liked over the Months. But now at 2 one likes her crocheted blanket mil made and the other has been OBSESSED with a plush fizzy bear since just before a year.

My DD is 3.5 and was never really attached to any item. She sleeps with a couple stuffed animals but they never leave her bed.

Sophie the giraffe.

Started at 6 months but not a real attachment to her until about 18 months.

Makes it fun for when we are out and someone else has a sophie, lol.

Blankie or Lovey Question...

She started sleeping with her lovey around 5-6 months. She only sleeps with it at night. Never carries it around. It's only for bedtime. She's 10 months old.

Both of my kids were a few months old when they got attached to a special "blankie". My DD is 6 yo and she still has it with her around the house and sleeps with it as night, same for my DS but he's only 22 months.

Re: Blankie or Lovey Question...

Chewy aka tutu Bc my son couldn't say chewy, both under a year. W my son he got attached to one so we tried to get a double too late and he wouldn't take to the 2nd he used to chew it and it was gross. We got my daughter 2 to start and she chewed the feet until the dog ate them and not they both just take them to bed but can't be wo them for bed. I love/hate them.
