Would it bother you?
Would it bother you If someone came to your home and fed your pets a bunch of treats without even asking you if its ok? Just dumped a bag full of treats into the pets bowl (way more treats than a serving size since you're not supposed to fill a food bowl with treats.) Or went outside and gave the dog a bag full of treats while you were busy hosting without asking you. Didn't ask if the dog or cat had eaten recently, was on a special diet, allergic to anything, etc.

YES it would bother me. I always tell people not to feed my pets without checking with me first, my little girl had a two bisciuit a day rule, and always after dinner.
It drove me crazy when people tried to feed her table scraps under the table after I asked them not too

That would bother me tremendously! If someone gave my dog a treat or 2 without asking, I wouldn't mind too much, (but would still not be thrilled about it) but a WHOLE bag!! That's crazy!

Absolutely it would... my dogs are allergic to some things so I have to be careful with what they eat. Even if they weren't - I'd have a problem with it.

Yes, that's very serious! Pets can get very sick if they eat things they don't usually.

Glad to see I'm not the crazy one! I really was angry, especially since this person does this every time they visit even though every time we ask them not to. And they have pets and love animals, I get they love animals and want to be nice to them, but they should seriously have the common sense and knowledge as a pet owner to not just give an animal a ton of treats they're not used to. The worst time was a few years ago when she gave my very sickly 19 year old cat who was on a strict special wet food diet because she threw up all the time a handful of hard kitty treats. I put a stop to it right away, but she just keeps bringing treats for our other cat (now that the older one died) and dog. When I see her doing it I ask her to stop, but this past time she hadn't even knocked on our door yet but I knew she was here so I opened the door and she's on the porch and had just dumped a whole bag of cat treats into our outdoor cats dish. Didn't even bother to notice the empty plate right next to her dish because dh had just given her a plateful of tuna. I don't need to be cleaning cat puke off my porch in freezing cold weather. I told her right away that the cat had just eaten and wasn't used to those kind of treats, just like I tell her every time. Why does she do this every time? Why does she think this is ok? Besides being annoying its kind of insulting, as if she thinks we starve our pets or something and they just can't survive without her huge servings of treats  sorry to ramble, just needed to vent.

It would definitely bother me. Our new dog has a weaker stomach and if she eats too many treats she gets diarrhea. So unless that person wants to walk my dog and pick up mushy poops, then they shouldn't feed my dog anything without checking first.

Yes! A whole bag of treats is nuts. I got annoyed on christmas when family kept giving our dog treats and bones.

If this has been an ongoing thing and you've asked this person to stop, at least several times, I would get really pi$$ed at them and give them a piece of my mind next time. There is no way I would hold back if they ever did it again - regardless of who the person is, they need to be told off. Aside from not respecting you in your own home, they are potentially causing serious harm your pets!

I agree... I know what my piece of mind would do.. if I've asked them to stop and they continue... I would flat out tell them they will no longer be welcome in my home if they couldn't respect my wishes.
