what to pay mother's helper
I recently suffered a back injury which will leave me with limited mobility over the next two months. I have a hyper 5 year old son and a somewhat active 2.5 year old. I know I will need a mother's helper to pick my son up at the end of the day at the bus stop at 3:40 from school and someone to help keep them under control until my husband gets home at 6:30. I will need someone M-F. I will need someone for abut 2 months ...give or take depending on how my recovery goes.
This person will not have to do housecleaning or errands -just play with the kids, keep my daughter preoccupied while I work with my son to get his HW done and let me start a simple meal. I live in a two story house and the basement is their play area so they do run all over and would be physically taxing for me right now to deal with right now. We will be reaching out to a neighbor who has a 3 year old daughter and plan to offer her to bring her daughter over so she can play with our kids if she wants. How much would you pay per hour? What if i go with someone who may not have a child they need to bring over? I will need to pay them by check for tracking purposes. Is $12.00 an hour fair?

Yes, I think $12 per hour is fair. Good luck to you and feel better!
