Anyone celebrate Greek Easter?
If so, what's on the menu? I'm going to make tray of pastitsio (I'm sooo excited for this). My dad always makes a lamb (which I don't eat) and sometimes a ham, probably lemon potatoes & some kind of green veggie. We always have homemade spanakopita and make kourabiedes for dessert. Sometimes baklava.
LOL I just noticed I posted about this in 2013 too! I love food.

Re: Anyone celebrate Greek Easter?
We do, although every year it's up in the air who will host between my parents or my aunt.
We always have tzatziki, platter of feta and kefalograveria, bread, salad, a vegetable, spanakopita, pastitsio, lamb in the oven with potatoes (we don't have enough people to do it on the spit).
Also, tsoureki, red eggs, and a bunch of other desserts.

Re: Anyone celebrate Greek Easter?
i have been hosting since 2006 and as of last year i quit! (temporarily) We went to Stamatis in Astoria last year. Ate everything on the menu and spent the day with family. Last year we walked over to the beer garden. they had a polka bad ( so greek, i know lol) and my little niece had a blast dancing. Watching her brought joy to everyone in our family. No prep, no clean up. its a win/win.
