Budget for kitchen Reno?

I'd like to get new cabinets/countertops within the next few yrs and trying to figure how long to save/how much we need etc...

Let's say you want to keep the exact same layout. DH will diy flooring and backsplash so we won't figure that in the cost. Don't need new appliances right now (but will need to add a dishwasher, there is not one there currently)

Is 8-10k enough for reasonable quality cabinets and countertop (installed) and sink? It's a very small galley kitchen if that matters...
