City Mini and Snap n Go?
Hi Girls,
I'm getting mixed opinions on whether or not I should register for 2 strollers.
We are registered for the City Mini Elite.
But some friends/family told me I may also want a lightweight stroller, so I also registered for a Chicco KeyFit Caddy Lightweight Aluminum Infant Car Seat Carrier Stroller.
I just don't want more stuff than I really need, and my registry already has a ton on it!
A friend told me when I go shopping I can just put the car seat into the shopping cart and there's no need for the lightweight stroller.
Just wondering what thoughts were and what you girls are doing.
TIA!

City Mini and Snap n Go?
I have both...I love love love my snap and go. It's super lightweight and convenient, and takes up very little space.

It's true the car seat snaps right onto the cart. You can also get the car seat adapter for the City Mini which would eliminate the snap and go altogether.

I would not put the infant car seat in the shopping cart. It's def def not safe to have it resting on top and if you put it in the cart then you have no room for actually stuff.
We had a snap n go and loved it while dd was in her infant seat. We also have an umbrella stroller and full size. They all have diff purposes.

I love my keyfit caddy. It's so light and the basket is huge. I also have the citymini but I don't love it. The basket stinks and it's kind of bulky so I stick to the caddy as long as possible.

This!!! Never ever put the car seat on top of the shopping cart even if it has one of those caddies that says it's ok. It makes the shopping cart top heavy and can cause it to tip over. Major no no. The only safe place for a car seat in a shopping cart is inside the main basket and then that leaves very little room for actual stuff. It only works if you're getting a few things. DH and I would go food shopping together- me pushing DD in the snap n go and DH pushing the cart.

The snap n go was amazing. I was so upset when DD grew out of her car seat and I couldn't use it anymore. It was so convenient. I also ended up buying a City Mini for when she grew out of the car seat.

I agree with everyone else, I think you'll be happy with both!! they do serve different purposes but the snap and go is so convenient when the baby's in the infant car seat.

It is actually very dangerous to put the car seat on top of the shopping cart. Most infant seats have this warning printed directly on them.

I agree with not putting the car seat on the cart, I've worked in retail far too long and seen first hand how bad it can turn out. Also, not everywhere you go will have shopping carts anyway. What about just a walk around the park or a fair? Still need a place to put the baby.

Re: City Mini and Snap n Go?
I had both and I'm glad I did. DD was NOT comfortable in the City Mini until she was over a year old. She was miserable in it. So I kept her in the car seat / Snap & Go till she was like 11 months old (and got way too heavy for me to carry her around!). I love how flat the Snap & Go folded too; it was super-easy to store in the trunk, even with packages.

City Mini and Snap n Go?
The snap n go I had (for Graco) had a huge basket underneath. I fit a lot of crap in there when I went shopping. I also got a mommy hook and put things in bags there if I needed a lot of stuff.
