Disney While Pregnant!
I will be 24 weeks when we go to Disney in Mid June. I know, not ideal, but we figure it's the last chance to take our 4.5 year old before we have a new baby and wont be going back for a while! Any advice? Tips from BTDT moms who went while they were pregnant? Thanks in advance!

Disney While Pregnant!
I went when I was 20 weeks PG in mid May. Definitely drink lots of water, rest often and wear good shoes. Bring lots of snacks for yourself too. I found I was cranky if I was hungry, but didn't realize I was hungry. Obviously, watch the rides you go on - no roller coasters or drop rides - but I was still able to go on Pirates of the Caribbean. Just make sure to listen to your body.

I too was about 24 weeks when we went in 2013, in end of July. It was fine. My legs did get swollen by the end of the day, but that was happening even without going to Disney. As PP stated, you'll have to watch what rides you can ride, but other than that, just regular stuff you'd do while PG.

Re: Disney While Pregnant!
I went around the same time, it was April/May but it was in the high 90's every day, so hot! I just made sure to eat enough and stay hydrated and I was fine. I brought lots of snacks and stored them in the stroller. I made sure I had comfortable, supportive shoes and rested if I felt like I needed too. It was off-season so the parks weren't too crowded and I did not have to wait on long lines, that probably made it a bit easier.
Try to put your feet up when you get back to your room. Even if they're not swollen, it will help prevent it.

What everyone else said - stay hydrated and wear comfortable shoes, and make sure to put your feet up back at the hotel. It's not terrible to go while pregnant, but the heat got to me a lot, so I parked myself under those mist sprays whenever I could.

Keep hydrated- you can get free water or ice from the concession stands. I did the same thing at 25 weeks. It was April, but it was really hot - high 90's. I was on my feet all day and I was fine except my feet hurt.

I did it, in August around 20 weeks. I was miserable. We ended up leaving and going to the hotel to swim

Re: Disney While Pregnant!
I did it just DH and I when I was 16 weeks. It was rough and I won't do it again if I can help it. My doctor told me that I couldn't ride anything in the park, so that wasn't much fun. The heat and walking was a lot and I only lasted a few hours on the two days we went. This was October so it wasn't even really that hot.
The obvious recommendations though . . . Stay hydrated, rest often, listen to your body and just go back to the hotel and rest if needed. I would plan lots of meals so you can sit in air conditioning. Don't try to do every last thing. Also comfortable shoes!

Just wondering, don't mean to pry - was there a specific reason you were told you couldn't ride anything in the park? I'd assume the normal no-nos (coasters, drops, safari, etc) but I assumed things like Peter Pan or Winnie the Pooh were fine...most things I'd be limited to with a toddler anyways...

Re: Disney While Pregnant!
We took my oldest son to Disney when I was 16w pregnant with twins and we had an amazing time!!!! Make sure you drink lots of water and wear comfy shoes/sneakers. My son was 2, so we took it easy... We went to a park in the morning, went back to the hotel for lunch and nap time, and then we went back out for the evening. It was perfect! Have a great time!
ETA: I went on all of the rides that my son went on - Dumbo, Peter Pan, It's A Small World, etc. As long as you stay off of Space Mountain and The Tower of Terror, you'll be good lol.

No, no reason. I wasn't high risk (well I wound up high risk but that was due to GD, which I'm almost positive I hadn't been diagnosed with yet). He just felt that any ride could potentially jostle you around too much and be dangerous. He's very cautious.

Re: Disney While Pregnant!
I went in September at about 19 weeks. It was rather unpleasant for me. Very hot and despite good walking shoes, my feet were killing me. Obviously that's not a problem everyone will have (as evidenced by pp's). I rode many of the tame toddler rides and it was nice to do for my older DD. I'm glad we went but I wouldn't go pregnant again. I think the list of off limits rides while pregnant is on one of the Disney sites, and I also posted it sometime in the last several months in response to a similar post.

I am at Disney now and am 18 weeks pregnant. We are having a blast and am so glad we came. I brought a water bottle and make sure I always have it full. I have gone on all the rides my 2 year old does.

Re: Disney While Pregnant!
Thanks everyone! I was wondering about the rides too. I figured I could do the "gentle" ones they call them like Peter Pan, Pooh, It's a Small World. I guess I will ask my doc!
