Air Conditioner in Baby's Room

Since we don't have central air we need to put an ac unit in DS' room. Any suggestions on a model? I'm looking for the quietest possible one. Most likely a window unit...

We just used a cheap one that was on sale at the supermarket lol. It wasn't the quietest but it was like white noise and didn't bother them. Just ask at PC Richards or wherever you buy if there is a "quiet" model.

We just put a regular GE AC in his window that DH won at work. It is definitely not quiet, but he didn't seem bothered by it. I like it because it blocks out all the summertime noise.

Re: Air Conditioner in Baby's Room

I have a condo now with CAC but before that, when DS was born up until about a month ago I had a little ranch. No CAC. I had a window unit in the den that did that part and the kitchen... Then one in my bedroom. Then I bought one from Sears for my son's nursery. It was great - whisper quiet. The brand was Kenmore. It was a great price, I only bought what I needed for the room -- I forget the BTU's but it tells you online what you'll need for a certain amount of space.

The nice part was it had a little remote. So, I could change it, turn it up or down, on or off, and pump up or decrease the fan speed, etc. from the little remote... Which was nice if he was sleeping, I could just poke my head in with the remote and change the settings accordingly.

It was cheap - I forget exactly but I don't think it was over $200.

HTH!

to be honest ours wasn't quiet when we had one and same as above it was like white noise in her room.

I will suggest one with the digital thermometer because it was much easier to keep her room at a certain temp.
