Sesame Place while Pregnant
I really want to take DD to Sesame Place before #2 joins us in August. I think she will love it. The only time it will work schedule-wise is mid-July. I will be 36 weeks. Am I crazy or is this doable?

I honestly have no idea but we are going to Dutch Wonderland when I will be 34 weeks pregnant. I sure hope it is doable! I guess I will find out soon enough!

Definitely doable. The rides are for small kids so you can still go on most of them.

I personally wouldn't do it. I remember the last time around 36 weeks is when I started to feel like crap. Combine that with walking around a theme park in the heat... I don't know that I'd want to do it.

I don't think I would. You can do it as a day trip so maybe wait until close to the date to see how you feel. I definitely wouldn't go on the rides aside from the carousel and lazy river maybe. With my first pregnancy I might have done it and regretted it afterward when i couldn't walk the next day and with my second I didn't make it to 36 weeks.

I wouldn't do about it, and I was tempted! First it's a lot of walking. It will be really hot. Plus you can go early and I wouldn't want to be that far from home.

Re: Sesame Place while Pregnant
Last weekend, at 36 weeks pregnant, we took DS to a musuem. It was really hard on me. My feet were swollen, I was cramping and needed to sit a lot. And we were only there for a couple of hours. I couldn't imagine doing it outside or for longer that far along. That being said, at 36 weeks with my first pregnancy, I still felt pretty good and may have been able to handle it. Maybe. I personally wouldn't chance it, though.

I felt the same way. I wanted to take ds1 before ds2 arrived. I went at 37 weeks on a sunday. My water broke Tuesday night. My friend said that sesame place made me go into labor.

I'm in the same boat! Currently 33 weeks and I want to take Dd somewhere before baby arrives but not sure how up to it I feel. Been feeling pretty hot and tired after 32 weeks so I'm sure it'll get worse.
We took her to a carnival in our town recently and I was not allowed to go on any rides and it was a lot of standing around waiting while my DH took her on rides so not that fun for me but she still had a good times so that makes me want to do it for her. Still conflicted. Probably end up being spontaneous and take a day trip if I'm feeling good like a pp suggested

I will have to keep this in mind if I get really desperate lol! Probably all that walking?

Same here. I'm 25 weeks (just about) and walking too much is already painful (pretty sure I have SPD). But I would love to take DD before the baby comes. I saw that they do have half price tickets for pregnant women since we can't go on rides. Between that and the fact that she'd be free, I'm leaning towards going and then just sitting as much as I can while there lol.

Re: Sesame Place while Pregnant
It could go either way...you could be fine or it could be too hot or too much walking...but if you do it as a day trip, which is all we've done with DD and its been plenty, you can decide the day before.
Also, last summer we went after DS was born on a Sunday in september and it wasn't too hot or too crowded and DS slept mostly in the stroller. They have places you can nurse and or pump and bottle warmers and all that stuff so its baby friendly if you wanted to go after new baby comes.

Yea that is what I am guessing or just coincidence. Because when I was overdue with ds1 I walked, sat on the yoga ball, followed all the "tips" and nothing worked lol

Sesame Place while Pregnant
If you go make sure you drink lots and lots of water. With my last pregnancy I went apple picking at 35w. It was an unusually warm day at the beginning of October and I walked up a huge hill. That night I had to go to the hospital bc I was contracting every 3 min. It ended up stopping after rehydrating. I don't want to scare you but just be careful at the point. I felt great all day but looking back I realize I got too hot and didn't drink enough water.

Thanks for the feedback! I will see how I'm feeling when the time comes and decide. Hoping we'll be able to take her though.

Re: Sesame Place while Pregnant
im due in August as well. We are taking our dd to Sesame and Dutch in mid June. THey will be 2 separate trips because of work schedules. I wanted to go before I get too big and uncomfy. Especially with the heat, I wont be able to walk around that much. It may be doable but its going to be hot!!

Re: Sesame Place while Pregnant
I did it at 35 weeks and boy was it hot. I would do it again in a heart beat. My DS had the best time and it was something I wanted to do with him before the new baby came. Just take lots of breaks and drink lots of water.

The thought of that is making me tired. Especially with the heat! I just walked around the holtsville ecology center which is small and I was wiped out. I'm only 33 weeks.

Yes, Eden the last weekend of June! I remember a few of us discussing it a while back. Going to put up a post before going asking what people plan on doing!

Re: Sesame Place while Pregnant
it really depends on YOU. I would have done it in a heartbeat. It didn't matter how tired or exhausted or uncomfortable I felt, if something was important to me, I just sucked it up and did it. If it's important to you to sepcifically go to Sesame - do it! Worst case scenario you need to take a few breaks and let your DH run around for a bit.
have fun!
