Question about going early vs going late

Is this ANY indication of whether or not I will go early versus going late?

It's my first baby and I know they're usually late, but my stomach is always SOOOO tight feeling like there is just no room whatsoever for the baby to grow and she moves SO much in ways that seem like she is just ready to come out. It's hard to explain but a part of me feels like she won't stay in there for another 6 weeks!

Anyone have experience with this and know if it's any indication if i will go early/on time versus being 2 weeks late?

I'm also very petite, 5'0'', so I feel like she won't be "cozy" in there, since there's no where to go! haha

Re: Question about going early vs going late

I honestly don't know but I hate to say I really don't think it's any indication. I had such insane tightness and pressure with DS starting at 35 weeks. My belly was so heavy it felt like he was going to fall out of me at times! I didn't think it was possible I could make it to 40 weeks.

Sure enough, I went into labor the morning after my due date and DS was born the following day. He was almost 11lbs!!! And while I may be tall, I can assure you it was far from comfortable. His ass was jammed in my rib cage for the longest time so I imagine he felt it too. haha.

Means nothing - especially 6 weeks out. I had 2 children. My first was 10 days early and my second was 15 days early. I can assure you that 6 weeks out I had absolutely no indication I would go early. It was only the day before both that I started feeling badly and then went into labor within hours of that.

Question about going early vs going late

With your first it's hard to figure out anything, because it's your first. For someone like me who's not pregnant with their first and has had 3 preterm deliveries chances are I won't make it to my scheduled csection date(which really isn't scheduled long story). I've had 34 weeks, 35, weeks and 36 week babies(not in that order).

Doctors don't think I will go full term and neither do I especially since my last csection incision is messed up; couldn't go through old scar tissue(complications during it) had to do a vertical incision that they fear will rupture if I go into labor.

I'm a mess.

Interesting! What specifically was feeling badly? Exhaustion/aches?

Aww best of luck!! Would you schedule a c-section hopefully before you went into labor naturally?

Re: Question about going early vs going late

I don't think there is any indication at all. My first was 8-9 days early and my second was 2 days late. I can't wait to see what happens with this one. I have been crampy and back killing me since about 30 weeks and swear I am going early but more than likely that won't happen.

Re: Question about going early vs going late

i went exactly 2 weeks early with my 1st. the day before I gave birth I had an internal and my doc told me don't go far you are going to have this baby soon and sure enough next day I went into labor!

With my 2nd I was doing everything I could to get the little guy out and he came 1 day early..lol

soo really you never know. Once your doc starts doing internals you should have somewhat of a better indication...

My first was just general lethargy the day before. With my second, it felt like I was coming down with the flu - whole body aches and felt like I had a fever, even though I didn't. Started having contractions soon after that.
