do OBs prescribe...
progesterone suppositories?
I just got a BFP. With DS2 I was under the care of an RE, but I happened to get pregnant naturally. They did however do betas every few days and prescribed progesterone suppositories for me when my number dropped about 6 weeks in.
I'm wondering if this time I can just call my OB and ask for betas to make sure my numbers are ok, or is this something only REs would do?
I'm freaking out that something will go wrong again as I had two chemicals before DS2, which is why I went to the RE in the first place.

Yes, OB can follow your progesterone level (your beta too, but when your progesterone level drops, you get progesterone supplements).
Just call them & tell them you had an issue in the past.

Re: do OBs prescribe...
Yes they can prescribe them for you but I found it takes longer for the bloodwork at my OB's office to come in vs. getting drawn at the RE where you would have results the same day.
ETA congrats on the BFP!

Re: do OBs prescribe...
Yup! OB's can continue it or just order betas in without an RE. I had that happen with this pregnancy. The RE was the one who ordered my initial betas and the progesterone (with a few other things), but after that I got in touch with my regular OB, she continued them. Then when I ran out of my prescriptions (progesterone included) she just re-prescribed them for me. You should call your OB and ask. Has s/he been with you through any of your chemicals and is familiar with your history? Mine was, so she took extra precautions with me - letting me come in for an early sono, doing the betas, more frequent appointments, etc.

Re: do OBs prescribe...
Thanks all. I'll call my OB on Monday. She was with me through the previous two chemicals so she is familiar with my history. I'm thinking I can't really go to the RE at this point b/c I don't think insurance will cover me since I'm already pregnant.

You still might be able to. I was with a very similar situation- unexpected BFP and a history of low progesterone- I just had to pay a copay. They were able to get me in the next day, get results that same day and start me on progesterone suppositories ASAP. It wouldn't hurt to give them a call and see.
