Braxton Hicks vs. "False Labor" contractions
During my first pregnancy around the 34 week mark, I was experiencing mild cramping throughout the day one day. It wasn't very painful but it was enough for me to notice and frequent enough for me to report my symptoms to my dr. After the dr brought me in, she confirmed I was contracting every 4-5 mins so she sent me to the hospital to get rehydrated by IV for a few hours and then made it successfully to 38 weeks without further incident.
So here we are, second pregnancy, just over 30 weeks, and I've started to feel what I recall as a similar sensation to that cramping I experienced the first time. People have been asking if maybe it's just Braxton Hicks but I don't really know? I didn't think I had that my first time around so all I have was that prior incident to go off of. I have my belated 30 week growth sono on Monday coming up so I will bring all of this up at the appointment, but just wanted to get some feedback/thoughts from other mamas & mamas-to-be. What do you think is going on here?? TIA!!

Re: Braxton Hicks vs. "False Labor" contractions
I think anything consistent for an hr warrants a trip to L&d. My first pregnancy I went in at 26 w with regular intervals but just tightening ans no pain. They hydrated and I was fine. Then at 30.w they were consistent but felt like a bad stomach ache. They hydrated and gave me meds to stop them. I think everyone is different. I've heard of ppl being in labor with what they though was back or hip pain.

Braxton Hicks vs.
I can't tell if I've ever had a BH. I did have some weird cramping today but it was constant, like if I was on day 2 or 3 of AF. It didn't come and go. And no tightening as far as I could tell. I didn't even notice when it stopped.

I had the same thing on Sunday night - and also didn't know how to "classify" it. With my first, I went past my due date and was induced - so I really don't know what the early stages of labor feel like.
To my knowledge I've never had a BH contraction that I was aware of.

Re: Braxton Hicks vs. "False Labor" contractions
It's hard to know until you really know I guess, but I have been having BH contractions getting more and more frequent beginning in the late 20's. Now at 38 Weeks, 2 days, I can say the BH contractions I've felt is really more of the stomach hardening and "pain" only if/when I had to pee! haha.

Braxton Hicks vs.
This sounds like me! With my first I didn't have any contractions until the day I went into labor at 38 weeks! With this pregnancy I had contractions at 31 weeks and went to the hospital and they stopped them with shots and gave steroid shots in case I did deliver early! They stopped for a few weeks and then have started again. I'm 36 + weeks now and my doctor said as long as they come and go and slow down with water and rest then its just our bodies getting ready. They are sooo annoying at this point bc there's been so many nights where I think I'm in labor then they stop!
