Keratin...

Heard so much about it on these boards... What does it actually do for your hair? As I complained about the other day, my hair has been so dry and brittle on the ends. Would it help?

Does it damage hair in anyway? What kind of upkeep is involved and how long between treatments?

there's usually 2 different options. A longer term one 4-6 months (around $300) and a short term 4-6 weeks (around $100). I do the short one b/c I can't spend the $300 on my hair lol. It softens my hair and takes out the frizz. I have long thick straight hair. I love it. I did it once last summer, and just a few days ago. It did not damage my hair. It washes/grows out and my hair is just frizzy like before. I love it. It doesn't seem hard to do. I am actaully going to research it and try it myself. All she did, with my hair wet, after my cut, was spread the keratin over my hair (in layers) and hot iron it. Last year I asked on here and a few people said they do it themselves.
