Any Lovenox ladies?
Unfortunately no... No matter what I did it was never a cure for bruising... I could do the same thing every time and one time i get a bruise the next time I wouldn't...

Any Lovenox ladies?
I think its different for everyone. I was on a high dose 2x a day with my DS and only bruised once.
Just always move spots.

Re: Any Lovenox ladies?
My stomach is all bruised too. My doctor recommended using a cold compress on the injection site but I honestly don't see much of a difference.

Re: Any Lovenox ladies?
Bruising got less and less as I got better at shots. Bit occasionally I'd hit something and end up with a huge welt bruise.

Re: Any Lovenox ladies?
I would sit down, NOT pinching the skin and just inject real slow. If I remembered to ice before hand I would do that too, but most times I forgot.
I noticed that I bruised more when I pinched the skin.

Re: Any Lovenox ladies?
This is my second go round with lovenox. I bruised all the time with my 1st pregnancy. Now, my "trick" is to put the needle in reallllly slow and inject the medicine reallllllly slow too. I haven't had any bruising so far with this pregnancy and I'm 21 weeks. I hate this medication more than anything but it's definitely a lot easier this time around. Good luck!

Re: Any Lovenox ladies?
Make sure you do the shot in really bright lighting. Also use a mirror. Make sure you are avoiding veins. Sometimes it work.

Re: Any Lovenox ladies?
I just finished 8 months of lovenox (just switched to heparin) and I rarely bruised once I got the hang of it. Some tips:
- I agree with the bright lighting. It makes a huge difference if you know to avoid the veins.
- Inject into your "love handles" over by your hip bones. You need an area that's fleshy. As your stomach grows, this will be farther and farther away from your belly button but that's ok.
- Grab a good amount of flesh and pinch it gently. Before you inject the medicine, give your skin a tap with the needle. if it really hurts, move over a centimeter. If you barely feel it, that's the spot you want.
- Stick the needle in and let go of the flesh with your other hand. No need to keep pinching. inject the medicine as quickly or as slowly as you need to. Speed never made a difference for me.
- When you're done, put ice on it but DON'T PRESS. You can't put any pressure on the injection site, PRESSURE IS WHAT CAUSES THE BRUISING. Not even if you're bleeding - if that happens, just loosely put a tissue over it and hold ice on top, enough to feel the cold but without any pressure. Seriously. No pressure.
That's how I did it every night for 36 weeks and it worked for me!

Re: Any Lovenox ladies?
As I was injecting myself last night I thought of two more things:
1. Make sure that your skin is dry from the alcohol prep pad before you inject. If you have wet alcohol sitting on your skin, it will burn when you inject.
2. Sit down as you do the injection. You really want to hold a chunk of flesh as you start, and if you're standing up, your skin is pulled more taut.
Hope this all helps!
