just pierced my DD ears....now with ??s

at my old pediatricians office, her ped doesnt do it... he used a gun and a preset earring on it. she is 10m. she cried in the beginning but stopped and cried again, DH couldnt be in the room.

for those who have done this. is there supposed to be a little bleeding? I just noticed that there is dried blood in the area around the whole, if i move the earring. i clean her ear but just using an alcohol gauze and wiping it around.

also am i super paranoid but there are not even, one is closer to her cheek than the other. what should i do? i now feel like i shouldnt have done it....does it change as they grow up? where is your DD piercing, by the cheek or right in the center in the lobe space...

You didn't get the cleaning solution? I used the solution on their ears for the first few weeks and just made sure to keep turning it, once in the morning and once at night. Both my daughters are in the center on the lobe. I'm not sure if she will grow into if they are uneven, I had that happen but I was older and ended up taking them out so they could close.

I had my girls pierced when they were older age 2 & 3 and we had it done at a jewelry store. There wasn't any blood. The hole is is in the center of the lobe. We were told clean their ears 3x a day with a cleaning solution and not to use alcohol because it dries it out. The store provided us with the solution. We also were told to turn the earings at each cleaning.

DD had a little blood, but only for a day or two. We used a cleaning solution given by piercing pagoda. We cleaned twice daily, front and back, and turned each earring 3 times for 6 weeks.

Like PP said, I was not told to use alcohol because it will dry the ear out.

Got DD's done at Piercing Pagoda at the mall when she was 3.5 months. No blood and they gave us cleaning solution and instructions on how to clean and maintain. Before piercing, they drew dots on her ears and had me check them to make sure I liked where they were going to go.



They're pretty center.

I was also given a cleaning solution. As pp stated it is not recommended to clean a fresh piercing with alcohol. My dds earrings were not perfectly even but it is because her ear lobes are not perfect even either-
It is pretty normal--the difference is not noticeable any more unless you really inspect her ears. I obsessed over it for a few days then let it go.

DD got her ears pierced at the Drs office a few weeks ago at 4mo. I think they're pretty centered. There was a spec of blood that went away within a day or two. Our dr said to clean it daily with alcohol and follow with a drop of bacitracin and turn them once a day for a month.

I was afraid of cleaning them and having it not heal right, but they healed great and look adorable.

If you think it's uneven take her to a piercing place to confirm and take them out NOW if they agree. That way they will close up completely and you can get them redone eventually. I have uneven piercings and even though I took them out a long time ago they never full healed because the holes were pierced for too long. My DD had piercings from 3-15 months and you can still see the marks from where she was pierced.

My dd had hers done at ped at 3 months. They were totally uneven. It bithered me so much and I knew it would bother her when she got older. When she was about 2 years ild I took her to claires in the mall and had them redo the 1 ear. The 1st hole closed up pretty quickly

Is it something to worry about that when I clean her ear with a tip and just wipe the from and back...she cries

We were told to turn them a couple of times a day and put on ointment. They are very even, but would totally annoy me if they weren't.

DD's ears bled a tiny bit afterwards and when we changed the earrings a little bit as well. It's been about 5 months now and they are totally good. You need the cleaning solution and we cleaned twice a day and turned the earrings each time.

They need to be even. If they are not, take them out and let them heal up for a few years and do it again. When dd had her ears pieced they marked the lobe with a marker so I could see the spot the earring was going into. That way I as able to make sure they were even.
