Adding second child to the backseat
I have a small/med size SUV. Im due with baby #2 in a few weeks. Currently my 3yo sits behind the passenger seat. Where should I place the infant car seat? Should I put my toddler behind me? Do I try and fit the infant seat in the middle? TIA!

Adding second child to the backseat
I moved my toddler behind the driver and the infant is behind the passenger. My toddler can communicate with me whereas the infant can't so I need better visit of her. Also, it gives the driver more space with the convertible seat behind it instead of the infant seat

Adding second child to the backseat
Wherever you can get best install. Not all vehicles have a middle seat that's good for a safe installation. If you can install a seat in the middle, correctly, and it is installed independently (meaning does not brace on the front seat or other car seat), then the least protected child should go there, which would either be a forward facing child or the rear facing infant seat.
Right now my 16.5m old is rearfacing behind the passenger, where she's been since birth. I'll be installing the infant seat behind the driver.
ETA: if we need to, we'll switch sides.

Adding second child to the backseat
I kept my 5 year old DS behind the passenger seat and put my DD behind the drivers seat. He's old enough to get out of the car on his own so I wanted him to get out on the sidewalk...not the street.

Adding second child to the backseat
I moved my toddler behind the driver seat as well and the infant behind the passenger. It fit better that way due to the position of the driver seat.

Haha, by visit I meant vision.

My DD was born first, she has always been behind the passenger seat. When DS was born we put him behind the driver.

Re: Adding second child to the backseat
You can do whatever you want and whatever fits. In my car, we have the older child behind the passenger seat b/c he was already there. The baby is behind the driver. In DH's car, he's tall and sits farther back, so we moved the forward facing seat behind the driver with the baby's carseat behind the passenger.
