doe teachers- extra class periods question
how much extra are you paid if you teach more than 25 periods/week (middle and HS)? I remember alot of the special ed teachers added SETSS into their schedules and some did it 5x/week and got a few hundred extra in each paycheck. Trying to factor in how much more i would get if I decided to do the same this year

Re: doe teachers- extra class periods question
I believe that if you teach an extra period 5 days a week it an extra $10,000 for the school year

Re: doe teachers- extra class periods question
It depends what your license area is. If it's a shortage area you can get sixth in lieu and that's about 12k for the year. It needs to be approved by the district(?) because it doesn't come out of your schools budget. The money is definitely worth it, especially if it's not an extra class you need to do lesson plans for.
But if you agree to do an extra period make sure this is how you are getting paid. Coverage rate and per session rate work out to be significantly less and since you have to clock, if you're out for a day you miss the extra pay for that day. With sixth in lieu it becomes part of your salary for the semester.

it's for push-in services, SETSS. I feel like it's the per session rate, but i don't remember
