HSG and Hysteroscopy

I have an HSG scheduled for next monday afternoon, and then tuesday, 24 hrs later I have a hysteroscopy and mock transfer scheduled.

a friend told me to ask about antibiotics after the HSG as she got a raging infection that landed her in the hospital..Im assuming this is not normal ??

im dreading these two tests. Im sort of glad they're back to back to just get them done already.

Yes, better to just get them done and over with! Good luck, you are going to be fine!

My doctor prescribed a 5 day antibiotic for both the hysteroscopy and the HSG, so I'm sure yours would too? If they didn't mention it I would ask. You start taking it the day before the procedure.

thanks. I will call them this week then b/c I go in Monday. i'd have to start the weekend if thats the case.

i do not recall getting meds after the hysteroscopy. I also cant think of anyone having that issue before.

I have a history of pelvic infection so I had doxycycline prescribed for both. I think it's pretty standard for the HSG. I would call and ask.

I didn't take meds and I was fine.
