Update! 2 sacs???!!!
Update: So after a crazy long and scary week, I saw 1 baby today with a nice heartbeat of 108. I am around 6 weeks. I had a one time pink discharge incident on Sunday, then another one time pink discharge incident yesterday, then last night I woke up to a gush of bright red blood. I thought it was over. After the gush it turned into brown spotting, and nothing since. No cramping at all. The doctor said sometimes women bleed. I have a feeling it had to do with the 2nd sac he saw, but whatever it was I hope that is it for the bleeding because we have a nice healthy heartbeat!
I had my first sono today, I am around 5 weeks 2 days. We saw the sac!!!! I have had some losses so I know to be happy but not too happy.
Then the doctor says there may be a second sac there He said it is still early, but we can't rule out a second baby in there right now.
This was a natural pregnancy a cycle after a M/C, so he said it's slim since it was natural.
Anyone have experience with this? I will be getting my blood back sometime this afternoon but my last 3 draws didn't have numbers that I would think would be high enough for twins.
I will welcome any number of babies into my family, but I have to say two at one time scares me a little.

Congratulations! How exciting!!! When's your next sono? I hope you don't have to wait too long.
My beta levels were pretty much the same with my singleton pregnancy than they were with my twin pregnancy, so you can't really go by that.

2 sacs???!!!
Do twins run in your family? With unaided conception, twins (if they occur) are hereditary, not always, but often. My father & step-mom lost a set of twins at 24 weeks, my grandmother (dad's mom) had 2 sets of twins that we know of, one survived, one didn't.
Good luck! and Congratulations!

No, they do not run in my family at all.

Re: 2 sacs???!!!
WOW! I would be dying to know NOW. lol. When I was pregnant with #1, I was scared to death that she might see two because the thought of twins totally intimidated me. By the time I was pregnant with #2 I would have welcomed twins with celebration and excitement. haha! I can see now what a blessing siblings are and am confident that I would adapt to 2 (or 3) in the family just as I had to 1. So either which way this goes for you - good luck!!!! And congrats! Fingers crossed for you for a healthy pregnancy.

Re: 2 sacs???!!!
When I went for my first appointment this pregnancy at 8 weeks, they didn't tell me at the time but they saw a second sac. When I went for the NT scan, they confirmed I had one healthy baby and at that point they told me about the second sac. There was never an embryo in it so it's not considered a loss, it was just another "living space" in the event a second embryo did implant, but the second sac ultimately just went away and now I'm preparing for this baby to come in a few weeks.
Good luck and I wish you a happy healthy pregnancy, regardless of the outcome of the second sac

2 sacs???!!!
When we went for our first sono there was two sacs. At that point there was only one that had a baby in it. They had me come back a week later for a repeat sono and the second sac was no longer there.

2 sacs???!!!
I have been reading the second sac has only a 1 in 5 chance of turning into something. It's called a vanishing twin.

This happened to me in my recent pregnancy.
ETA - For a week, we thought we had twins. We were shocked and starting to get excited only to find out it was one. I read in a lot of places that if/when this happens, the one that sticks has a really terrific chance of surviving. This happened to me after 4 losses, and the baby that made it is 5 weeks old and sleeping in the next room.

Re: 2 sacs???!!!
My first appt was at almost 7 weeks and there was only one sac/fetal pole. I went back two weeks later and there was the second one. I guess it was not in a good spot and let's face it, no one was looking for it since it was a natural pregnany. Lol. We now have healthy 3 month old identical twin girls

Re: Update! 2 sacs???!!!
Bleeding is ALWAYS scary during pregnancy. Hopefully it had something to do with the 2nd sac though, like you said! I'm so glad you saw a healthy one in there!
Congrats!!
