I just came back to this post and read what you actually said to the woman. I think that was totally uncalled for! You can justify it any way you want, but you were rude.
You took up the entire aisle, making it impossible for someone to pass by. You saw someone who was potentially trying to make her way down the aisle. You opted not to move either your stroller or your cart to allow her to pass. She moved your stroller up so she could get by. Then you were nasty to her on top of being inconsiderate and hogging the aisle.
I can't for the life of me understand how you could think you were in the right.

For all you know she said excuse me and you didn't hear it. I just don't get why you think it's ok to take up a whole aisle, see someone and not move out of the way. If you were so concerned you should have had a hand on the stroller.

I don't see what the big deal is. She didn't try to steal your baby. She didn't move the stroller to another aisle. She moved it so she could pass through. It's not like she put her hands on your child.

I honestly would have moved your stroller too.

I probably would have moved it too. Especially since she knew you saw her and yet you did not make any attempt to move out of her way.

I'm guessing that her version of this encounter probably sounds a lot different and there is a very understandable reason for why she moved the stroller.

Exactly.

She was though? The person waned something on the side where the stroller was. Like on the shelf behind it

So instead of saying excuse me,just moved be stroller

Think that's it?

No, OP says the stroller was in the way a little bit for the lady's cart to get through.

Bottom line- this is a perfect example of how jaded people have become.
"giving the benefit of the doubt"- to believe something good about someone, rather than something bad, when you have the possibility of doing either.

Why are we so quick to be so gosh darned NASTY to others? Why not just assume that perhaps you WERE in the way, or didn't hear her? That maybe she had a lapse in judgement. why the need to scold? So rather than correcting her kindly, you turned it into an ugly situation, because you chose to believe her intentions were "bad". And then, rather than choose to see the good-(that you are a protective mother) that woman chose to see the bad- that you were an overreactive B.

Frankly, you both acted like asses.

You don't touch a stroller with someone else's child in it. Period.

This has never happened to me but I would not have minded. A lot of things bother me but this would not.

I have moved shopping carts to get through. I don't see as many strollers at the grocery store.

I wore my kids when I went grocery shopping by myself with them. I was just not coordinated enough to do the push and pull. And this scenario wasn't conducive to doing any real grocery shopping.

All that being said... I don't think I would have reacted at all if someone moved my stroller. It's better than her bumping/crashing into it and chances are, with how chaotic my trips to the grocery store are, I wouldn't hear anyone saying "excuse me". I would appreciate the help because not everyone out there is a bad person.

I used to shop like this or I would just take my double stroller and put things on top of my stroller and/or hook a basket on my stroller. Since it wasn't very productive, I often went grocery shopping at night when the kids were asleep and bought as much as I could online.

My kids are bigger now and the little one sits in the front while the bigger child sits in the cart area. Thank goodness Wegmens has a two seater for two kids in some of their newer carts.
