Polyp
Hi, I just found out I have a polyp and need it removed before going forward with IVF. Has anyone had this surgery? Was the recovery painful or is it similar to the egg retrieval? Thanks!

Polyp
My doctor found a polyp while he was doing my hysteroscopy. He just scraped it off with the tip of the camera and it didn't hurt one bit. I actually didn't feel him doing it. Swabbing my uterine lining for a sample hurt way more.

I just had the same thing done before IVF. It was an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia and I felt totally fine right after I woke up-- even better than the egg retrieval.

A uterine polyp can't be removed this way. Maybe this was a cervical polyp?

I'm almost positive it was in my uterus. Maybe it was small enough to do it this way.

Re: Polyp
I had a d and c done to remove polyps. It was a one day thing and recovery was fast! Just mild cramping for the remaining of the day. Good luck!

Re: Polyp
I had a d&c done at the hospital as an out patients. Quick and painless (anesthesia), just a little bleeding after. Went home after an hour recovery time and felt good. No cramping.

I have one and I'm getting removed next IVF cycle during egg retrieval. Kill two birds with one stone.
