Polyp ... WWYD?

I had a polyp that was discovered June 2011 from a sono histogram. Dr. at RS of NY thought because it was so small and based on the location that it was not an issue (not in location of implantation). I trusted him and let it go.

Fast forward to the end of September after two failed IVF's I just wanted to get second opinions on my protocols. I felt A. get other ideas and present to current Dr. and see if they are flexible B. just to see what others thought of my situation. Current Dr. at RS of NY was open to other protocols. The polyp was mentioned by the second opnions and my current Dr. felt if it gave me peace of mind then have it removed. Ia m worried that if it is still there and I have it removed I need to sit out this cycle and wait until end of November December to do my last fresh cycle with GHI. I then move over to Aetna in January. What concerns me is that I have been making 7 folliicles (acceptable I guess to my current Dr.). When discussing the protocol he said well with the next follicle you could make 10, 7 or 4. IF 4 we cancel the cycle and pick it up again the following month. I told him I can't because my GHI will then run out Do I have it removed or don't I?

Anyone had tiny polyps that just vanished?

If you do have it taken out, it is done in the beginning of your cycle, so you would have to sit out that month of IVF, but you would be able to do IVF the following month/cycle, so you would still get it in by the end of the year. Mine didn't disappear, although I was told to do another saline sono to see if it did, but it didn't. GL! Which dr do you see?

Currently I am with Dr. Trivax and San Roan and RS of NY. I am considering Dr. zapantis at East Coast Fertility. ECF is about 6 miles further from my house. I just feel I ****** Dr. Trivax off and feel that now I should leave.

Re: Polyp ... WWYD?

I would suggest having it removed. I had a hysteroscopy done in April to have a polyp removed, but when Doc went in he noticed that I hae more than he originally thought. So he "cleaned" me out and was advised that he felt that with an empty cervix/uterus it would increase my chances for implatation. Like PP said, you would have it done a the beggining of your cycle and have to wait for next AF and then start transfer. GL!!

I had mine removed. My dr gave me the option of not but if it was her personally she said she would ahve them removed to avoid any issues and have a nice clean U for implantation. I have never heard of the going away on their own and everyone I know that had them had to get them removed.

I had a few and my Dr told me there was no way to tell if it would interfere with implantaion. You wouldn't necessarily implant always in the same spot so it could mess with it.

I would personally have them removed. I have a fibrod that I wanted removed but the Drs said it was small and wouldnt cause an issue. It hasnt with this pregnancy but I know that it could have.

I just feel like its only a month and its better to have a clean clear U for the baby.

I have a small one 4x2 mm in the lower uterine wall, Dr. said it was out of the implantation area. He felt back in June when he saw it it would not interfere. Bu from second opinions some Dr. said the would remove it, as I thought ... now harm done to remove it.
