SIRM -monitoring
Hey all, would you happen to know if Dr. T at SIRM would do monitoring at a LI facility? I totally forgot to ask.

SIRM -monitoring
He only has that one location. They have also gotten a lot less accommodating with time preference over the last year. In my previous cycles, I always got 4:30 / 4:45pm appts. This cycle, I was told 1pm was the latest monitoring unless I was able to get a special exception from Dr. T which I got once.

Wow thats crazy! My son is 8 months. When I was doing monitoring there I always asked for the last appointment and was able to go at like 4:30. I'm a teacher so there is no leaving early or taking a longer break...I would have to take the whole day off. Plus I was commuting for about 45 minutes to an hour depending how I got to the city at that time. If I ever go back for number 2 I would have to go in the summer. As we all know things never go as planned.

aw man, I wish they had another location on the island. Going for monitoring on multiply days can be grueling when you have to work. I was hoping that they would let you go some place else that they may be affiliated with.

That would have been great! Maybe they will branch out to Long Island. They would surely get a lot of business.

Re: SIRM -monitoring
They are expanding their Manhattan office. Dr. T is moving to the 5th floor (I think starting tomorrow) and the other Drs are staying on 3 and they will be renovating there too.
I think LI would be great. They have Westchester, Why not LI? But I don't think the Drs want to. Oh well.

Oh wow. When I was there last year I know there were plans for expansion. During my Intralipids I heard contractor people coming in and talking about expanding etc. Can't believe he gets his own floor. Guess they are doing really well.
If he is gonna have a whole floor to himself then he should have better monitoring hours...lol.

SIRM -monitoring
My last cycle was June and I had late monitoring hours. Only once was I told that latest appt was 2 pm bc of dr meetings. Would love an LI office. It is grueling esp since I'm a teacher, traveling to city from Long Island and my cycle latest longer than most.

yea I though they just open another office in CT as well. I made the trip last week to see him, and between the time, tolls and parking fees it all adds up to too. I can how it can be difficult if you have to work and coming from way out east.
Whats the hours of monitoring?

Re: SIRM -monitoring
The lack of monitoring hours has to do with the amount of people cycling with you, not SIRM in general. They told me it fluctuates so some cycles it will be easy to get a 4:30/4:45 and other cycles, difficult. They really try to accommodate you if you explain to them the difficulty. Dr. T said you can call REs in the island and see if they can do the sono and BW for you. I declined that bc rhe point of me seeing him was for him to monitor my appointments and sonos and change meds depending. I won't lie, it's not easy going into the city. The only good thing is that you go in a lot less often. Dr. Wang is 8-4 and Dr. T is 9-5. I took the LIRR in and walked up to the office.

Re: SIRM -monitoring
And I did ask him about a LI location bc of the difficulty and he responded like he gets this question a lot. He said he and Braverman orginally were SIRM LI but that closed once Braverman left to build his own practice. Semi bad blood but he did tell me to call them and see if they would monitor for me.

SIRM has also starting batching cycle starts. They told me that that I would be put on BC until their next cycle start when I got AF, but it turns out I got AF during a cycle start period so I started stims right away. Honestly, everything seemed so different when I cycled this month - just much less accommodating in general.

Thats annoying to hear. It was bad enough they didn't do morning monitoring like most REs but now to just do mid day is very inconvenient. Women going through IF have enough stress having to take off work adds to it.
Interesting thing is when I emailed Dr. T maybe like 6 months ago I thanked him for everything he did for me. I especially said I appreciate you accommodating my teaching schedule and letting me have late appointments. I wanted to make a point of that so he knew how important that was. Guess it doesn't matter!
I hope everything went well with your cycle!
