Never. I don't have close guy friends anymore, and if I go out with coworkers, it's in a group. DH has grabbed lunch quickly with female coworkers and I don't have an issue with it. But getting Panera or bagels during a busy day and a candlelight dinner for two is very different IMO...
ITA! Lunch I wouldn't really think twice about but a romantic dinner for 2... that would def make me suspicious.
who said they are romantic candlelit dinners?
I guess I meant more of a romantic restaurant vs a bar & grill. Like if I saw a friends husband out at an applebees with a woman... it wouldn't be as suspicious as a very fancy restaurant in my mind. I'm typing my thoughts quick (because I'm supposed to be working lol) so I am probably not explaining myself properly lol I didn't mean to imply the OP was saying they were out at a candlelit dinner. I'm saying in general, one would seem more suspicious to me as opposed to the other.

who said they are romantic candlelit dinners?
The OP said it looked like they were on a date to ME this implies they were flirting, it was a romantic setting etc. Personally it is ridiculous that going out w the opposite sex to eat a meal in and of itself is controversial but the OP saying it LOOKED LIKE A DATE to me means more...
classic example of a LIF post where people want to make each other look crazy...
I would like any married or involved woman on here to tell me they would be happy if a friend thought their DH was on a date w another woman...bc I know I wouldn't be...now OP's opinion could be just being out w someone of another sex could be viewed like this but I think there was more to it like flirting/canoodling

"Looks like they are on a date" needs to be defined in order for me to be upset or not.

I totally forgot about seeing him and this thread. It definitely looked suspicious but who knows?
We have not seen this family out of school for a few months. We invited them over a few weeks and got no answer at all. Then our mutual friends invited our normal crew over but not them. Then another friend just invited us over this weekend and everyone responded except for the family. I wonder if there are some problems at home.
At the end of the day, this is not my business. I have no intention on saying anything to anyone and not trying to spread gossip. I was just curious how often people went out to dinner with the opposite sex.

Actaully in my humble opinion, this is more of a classic example of how I still can not correctly use the damn quote function!
And in other news, I could so go for a romactic taco right now!!!!

Re: How often do you or your spouse go out to dinner with opposite sex alone?
It happens, I think it depends on the lifestyle and job type.
An example pretty recently me and DH and his friend had plans for dinner and DH had to work and could not make it, so DH sent me with his friend. It was a nice restaurant somewhere you would go on a date in a town DH and his friend grew up in. Sh$t happens
DH also has late meetings and has dinner with his assistant if they are traveling,(ipad and laptop on the table) if I am around i join them, and if we are traveling it happens that i will have lunch/dinner with a coworker if DH is in a meeting. our business is 24/7 we are not the norm at all, most people on here work a 9-5 job and are home for dinner every night. We have not had a meal home in years.

That's inaccurate/I disagree respectfully. Your case is not unique - Most these days work strange or long hours and are on call in some capacity. The age of everyone dining together every night is rare. Especially in the tri state area.

I agree with what you are saying 100%, some of our employees work long hours/travel, some work the regular 9-5
I guess what I meant in our case meaning DH is sole owner of a company with 60 employees and locations outside of NY

How often do you or your spouse go out to dinner with opposite sex alone?
LOL this thread
But to the OP. Whenever.
Matters not to me or my hubby.
I go out with a guy all alone by myself in another freaking city. Crazy thing is my hubby knows and is ok with it. So does my buddy's wife. She even offered to set us up with a joint hotel room to save me money (I declined). SHOCKER we are both in committed relationships. We don't worry but such trivial things as other people's opinions. These folks are our friends. He has gal friends, I have guy friends, we have friends. Once my buddy and I were asked how long we've been married. I said 12yrs for me, almost 1 for him. They thought I was making some cute joke. I clarified, we are both married just not to each other.
Meh
It's one of those MYOB type things. I don't judge. Now if they are groping each other and going deep throat with moaning.. yeah may be an issue. LOL
PS: Romantic Taco needs to make the memory of great posts ever!

Re: How often do you or your spouse go out to dinner with opposite sex alone?
If anyone is interested, they are recently separated and he was indeed on a date.
We have not seen them in a few months and they are just telling people they are divorcing. I saw the dad and we talked about the restaurant and he told me they recently separated.

Re: How often do you or your spouse go out to dinner with opposite sex alone?
Very rarely, and DH would obviously know about it. Last summer he was away (overseas) and I had dinner with a close friend that I hadn't seen in a long time. They are also friends and it wasn't an issue at all.

Thanks for the update. That just goes to show you that first impressions sometimes DO mean something.
