I need to find a warm winter coat without down
feather w/fake fur trim (whats that made out of?).
The coat should be warm for standing on the train platform.
Went shopping today and found a Calvin Klein, I don't think it will be warm..and Im not sure if it has down. Everything has down!!
I cant wear wool, allergic.
Would like to keep to $100 or less if I can.
I dont shop online...

Check out Bolton's if there's one around you- I always find they have a great selection of coats and a lot of down alternative coats at pretty good prices- though they might be around $100- $125 at this time of year. They do look and feel pretty thin, most of them have a tag that say "Guaranteed warm to x degrees". I was pretty surprised how warm they claim to be.

The brand I got last year is Bernardo and it is so warm! I got it at Nordstrom when they had a sale, it was a bit more than $100 but well worth it. Not bulky at all and super warm. Check that brand at other dept stores, maybe you can find a sale.
