YES, I got married at the Inn @ New Hyde Park. The food is amazing and the venue is to die for.

Re: Wedding Hall with excellent food
Weddings I have been to where I really felt the food was well above average - like, we were talking about how great it was, are as follows:
Land's End (I've been three times - excellent every time)
Lombardi's (I've been to on the Sound and Villa's - both great, and abundant)
Insignia (friends had a small wedding here - food was great)
Three Village Inn (friend of my boyfriend's had her second wedding here, food was excellent)
Flowerfield (I'm divorced but got married there in 2007 and the food was great - same when I was a guest years later)
Westbury Manor (I was surprised because this place is well known and has been around a long time so I didn't know how the food would be, but I have been like five or six times over the years and I am always happy with the food and it is abundant and most of all, consistently good)
Carlyle on the Green (food wasn't overwhelming in terms of abundance - like, there's not just crazy amounts of food all over BUT what you did get was more than enough and delicious)
Russo's on the Bay (without question the most opulent wedding in terms of the sheer amount of food, Italian cuisine, authentic, and just downright delicious. They had to wheel me out of there. It was unreal.)
Those are the ones that stick out in my mind - I could go on and on about places I have been where I felt the food was absolutely vile but I always tip-toe around that because on a public forum, I don't want to offend someone who had their wedding at a place where then I attended and felt the food was awful KWIM??
So, I'll be honest: mums the word for me in terms of places I had bad experiences with

Its such a personal thing - like I think the food at Russo's is nothing special. There is a ton of it, but its not outstanding.
I think that Lands End/Flowerfield has the best food, I also liked Lombardi's, North Ritz & Bridgeview

Wedding Hall with excellent food
I agree w having a tasting. TBH most big weddings the food is similar IMO it is very hard to have true gourmet food with over 200 plates being served, that said some are better than others and cocktail hours can be awesome or so so

Ahh good to know! attending a wedding next weekend there!
Just went to one at Chateau La Mer...I have to say under impressed with cocktail or dinner.
I enjoy Lessing's catering food so any of those locations are good.

Does Raphael do their own food though? Or do you have to bring in an outside caterer?

I was talking to the Aunt of the bride during CH and she told me that they have their own on-premise chef and caterer, not an outside one. Now, this is the Aunt of the bride so I'm not 100% positive but she seemed very "in the know" about the whole thing so I think it is accurate information.
I would guess, if it WAS an outside vendor, it is whomever Raphael recommends -- and since the food was so good, I think whether it is in-house or not you're in luck. My stomach is grumbling just thinking of it
The wine, needless to say, was outstanding.

Agree 150% with this!
I've been to tons of venues.
These two are the absolute best overall.
Jump over to Jersey & I'll add the Venetian to this list!

I think it really depends on the person and they should go for a tasting if it's that important. There are places listed here that I've been to that really weren't that great IMO but that doesn't mean someone else didn't think it was great.
I agree. People rave about fox hollow, I didn't like the food choices for dinner at all.
I totally agree. Went there a few weeks ago and loved the cocktail hour food but dinner was very disappointing.

Honestly, am I the only person who is, like, NEVER actually impressed with wedding food? Its always just ok. I've never had my skirt blown up b/c one particular place was so great.
