Record release process
Does anyone know how long it actually takes for a Dr. to send over your records when you are going to another specialist. I was told that it can take two weeks?? I don't really understand because to me can't they just fax it? I do not have two weeks to wait for my records to go to the new specialist. Does anyone have any similar experience with having issues getting your records sent to another dr?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Record release process
Most offices request 10 business days. In reality, it takes a few minutes. But there could be 100 other patients requesting docs, too. Especially in an RE office where patients are being discharged to OBs daily, this is true. However, most offices will try to accommodate you if you tell them the date of your appt with the specialist.

Re: Record release process
Not sure what practice you are coming from or going to, but I requested my info from LI IVF on a Thursdsy, and they were sent by Monday. All 58 pages. I was told it could take up to 2 weeks as well, so I was pretty surprised and glad when it was sent so quickly.
