XPOST: WWYD (low slow beta)

Backstory:
I don't have issues getting pregnant it's making it stick is my issue. I had a chemical back in November then a MMC in July. After the second miscarriage I start to see an RE.

This month I did my second medicated IUI.
I had between 3-4 follicles. Got a BFP 10dpiui then I got what I thought was my period on 12dpiui. Thought I was having another chemical. Had a beta on 15dpiui and it was 27. Here are my betas from the rest of the week.

17dpiui: 40
18dpiui: 46
20dpiui: 65
22dpuiu: 124

I know these number are less than ideal but doctor wants to do a biopsy to start a natural miscarriage. I'm hesitant to do it because my numbers are going up but slowly. Since I had so many follicles I wonder if I had a vanishing twin that caused it my betas to be screwed up. I'm so confused on what to do. I don't want to hold onto something that will just inevitably end bad but also don't want to do anything so drastic. Thanks!

I wouldn't feel comfortable forcing the start of a miscarriage either before I was ABSOLUTELY SURE it was heading that way.

With this one I'm pregnant with now (I'm 33wks along) my betas also started weird. I remember my first one was only at 22. It did double and sometimes triple every 48 hrs, but my RE kept telling me that it looked like a chemical anyhow because of how low they were. Finally when I reached 6wks I got to my OB and there was a HB! (My OB agreed with me that it was very premature of my RE to just assume it was a chemical). Since then everything has progressed beautifully with this little guy. Meanwhile I did have a miscarriage before him where my betas were high and basically picture perfect. Then even while in the beginning stages of the miscarriage (bleeding, cramping, etc) the numbers still continued to rise. It made me so hopeful for a miracle, but sadly it didn't come. Eventually I passed the sac on my own and the numbers started going down. It's the reason I don't take much stock in beta numbers at all. Way too deceiving.

All that to say, if it were me, I'd wait it out.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and I'm sorry for your loss. I completely agree that I should be absolutely sure. I actually made an appointment with a perinatologist to discuss my options. I won't be able to live with myself without knowing for sure.

Don't give up! My story is practically identical to yours - after 2 miscarriages, went to see an RE, wound up getting pregnant (in my case without assistance) and my betas very slow to rise. My RE told me on 3 separate occasions that he believed it was a miscarriage! My numbers were very similar to yours... I'm 23 weeks pregnant today.

So don't give up hope and don't do anything based on numbers alone - give it a few weeks to see what happens with the sonos. Mine worked out to be a late implantation most likely. Supposedly 15% of normal pregnancies don't have the expected rise in levels and there's nothing wrong! My RE even acknowledged that's true, which is why it drives me crazy how quickly they write off a pregnancy just because the numbers aren't right where they would like. Can it indicate a problem - yes. But not always and your rise in levels really does look like its on the right track.

I'd give it another week or 2, until you know what's going on. Unless the RE is concerned it's ectopic?
