Frozen Transfer Question

Could someone explain to me how a frozen transfer works in terms of timing? Does it correspond with your natural cycle or are you put on meds and it can be done any time of the month? We are considering PGS which means embryos would be frozen and there would be no fresh cycle transfer. Just trying to estimate when the transfer would or could take place after the period following the retrieval. I should have asked the dr this today but I was feeling a little overwhelmed and forgot!

Frozen Transfer Question

I have not done a FET transfer yet but my doc says that I am a candidate for a natural FET. My lining has always been thick so he said there is no need for meds before hand. I think he said for a FET, I'd start coming in around CD 8 for monitoring and the FET would be done around 5 days after ovulation (I think). Afterwards, I would need progesterone suppositories, no injections.

Obviously there are different protocols for a FET so I'd ask your RE.

Re: Frozen Transfer Question

From what I'm learning is you can do a natural FET cycle where you are not on any meds and you are closely monitored to time the transfer after you have ovulated.

For me I chose not to do a natural FET. I will be put on BCP for a few weeks and then taken off to start AF and start estradiol. When the lining is good then I will take progesterone and then the transfer happens I think 3 days after that.

The medicated cycle is more timed and has less monitoring...which is what appealed to me with having the twins and work.

Depends on dr and protocol. You can do natural or medicated but depends on your situation. I went with medicated for the dr to have a bit more control and less monitoring
