Older dc and hospital

I was just wondering how soon you had your older dc visit after you gave birth, specifically if you had a planned c-section. We are trying to figure out all the logistics! Tia!

DD was 17.5 months old when I had #2. I didn't see her for 4 days between being induced and having the c section. #2 was born at 8:56am and my older DD came around 4. DH and I wanted a few hours alone with the baby first, especially since family was watching DD1. Then DH went down to the waiting room to get her, we spent about 10-15 mins with just the 4 of us and then let everyone else come in.

I had a planned induction and DS came with MIL to the hospital and hung out in the waiting room for about an hour. I gave birth at 5:05PM and they came in to see DD right after I gave birth (after the baby and I got cleaned up of course). DS didn't really pay any mind to her, he was much more interested in the hospital bed remote.

id like her to be one of the first to see her. So she'll come with my parents.

Dd came same day once I was in maternity ward and she was awake.

I had a planned c-section that turned into a VBAC when I went into labor early.

The plan with the c-section, which was scheduled for noon, was to have my parents pick DS up from day care after and bring him to the hospital, which would have been about 4-5 hours after the start of the c-section. I wanted him to have as normal of a day as possible - and get that afternoon nap in!

Instead, with my VBAC, I delivered around 10am. My parents came to our house at 4am, then dropped DS off at his day care. They came to the hospital to see DD, left in the afternoon and picked DS up from day care and brought him right over. So it was closer to 7 hours before he saw DD. It was nice because he enjoyed his day at school and I had a little alone time with the new baby.
