18 month old nap question

What time does your LO take his/her nap? My DD wakes at 5:30, takes her nap from 9:30-11:30 but I find that she is falling asleep on the 15 minute drive home from the sitter at 5:30 and then sleeping through the night. This is a problem because she doesn't get to eat dinner and I miss spending time with her when she gets home.

Should I gradually push back her nap time?

18 month old nap question

Is it possible to push back her morning wake time and also push back her nap time?

My 18 month old DS wakes in the morning anywhere from 6:15-7:15, then naps around 12:00 and goes to sleep for the night between 7:00-7:30.

Re: 18 month old nap question

Yes absolutely! Napping at 9:30 means she's only awake for 4 hours before sleeping again. An 18 month old can definitely stay awake longer than that. I would say try to get her napping closer to 11:30-1:30. Maybe try pushing the nap back 15 minutes at a time. Then try putting her to bed closer to 7. That may also help her sleep past 5:30. Chat Icon to you that she wakes that early!

When my older dd dropped to one nap I pushed out from 11 to around 1pm. It worked great and she napped from 1-4 for almost two years until she dropped napping altogether.

18 month old nap question

My DS is 19 months and wakes up between 6 and 6:30 - usually he wakes up at least once in the middle of the night. He goes down for a nap between 12-1 and naps for 1.5-2 hours. He goes to bed at 7:30.
