Planned c-section - internals?

For those who have had planned c-sections, did you still have internal exams at the end?

Planned c-section - internals?

You can always decline an internal. I never had one and delivered 2 days before my dd

Re: Planned c-section - internals?

I had internals at every appointment towards the end despite a scheduled c-section.

Re: Planned c-section - internals?

I did not and would have refused them if they tried it.

Re: Planned c-section - internals?

I had 1 internal for each of my pregnancies, with planned c-sections for both. Both with different practices. After the first one, they always said it was unnecessary. (It's unnecessary in all pregnancies, not just planned c-sections.)

Re: Planned c-section - internals?

I had planned c sections with both DDs. My first I did not do any internals. My second I did two or three internals, but my DH was going away for a couple of long business trips and we wanted to make sure we were clear!

Planned c-section - internals?

God I hope not. I will refuse one if they try. I hate internals.

Thanks for all the responses. And just so I know, aside from the fact that they are uncomfortable, why do people reject them. Can they induce labor?

Because they are unnecessary and don't tell you anything. I had them with my first. The day before I went into labor I had zero progress. And with a scheduled c its even more pointless. You're getting a c no matter what.
