HSG ?- update
I am having my HSG done sometime this week. Should DH come with me? Will I be able to drive after?
1/15/16- had it done today. It was so painful I have never in my life experienced pain like that and I've had my gallbladder out a few years ago!!! The most pain was inserting the dye. Once I was moved side to side I was ok. They didn't put as much dye as they wanted because I could barely breathe from the pain, but I do hope they got enough of a good image. My doctor will review with me Tuesday. I am currently having some bleeding so hopefully it doesn't pick up. Thanks for the advice from everyone!!! It helped me prepare!

HSG ?
You should be able to drive after..there are no sedative given if that's what you mean. My DH didn't come with me. It hurt a little but I was fine after.

Re: HSG ?
DH can come to support you, but not necessary. I went by myself. You can drive right after. Just bring a pad to wear after as the dye continues to leak out. I think I took Ibuprofen an hour before the test and was fine, just discomfort.

Re: HSG ?
you're not put out. take some advil an hour before. and bring a pad with you b/c you may be spotting afterwards.
it was uncomfortable like a pap, but nothing terrible.

Re: HSG ?
My first HSG they offered me a Valium. If I had taken it I would have needed someone to drive me. This past time they offered me tylenol. I didn't take it and drove straight back to work after.

HSG ?
Went by myself....no problem afterwards. Didn't even need a painkiller. Good luck!

Re: HSG ?
My RE told me to take 800 mg of Motrin before, I was so anxious but the only annoying thing was that dumb spectrum (Hate that thing) and that was it. My mom came with me because I didn't know how I was going to feel from reading crazy online stories but she didn't really have to because I was fine right afterwards.
Good Luck, its not as bad as you think.
